My car won't run after starting and according to the AA man the keys need recoding, does anyone know if I can just take the keys to a stealer and get them to recode the immobiliser chip in the keys from there database? otherwise I will have to get the car flatbeded to them as it is a quattro and can't be towed.

Depends how old your car is and whether you're still keeping the service book stamped by Audi. You'll be paying £85+ per hour for the cambelt change from an Audi main dealer, or £55+ per hour from an independent.

Get them to check the water pump while they're changing the cambelt.

Bad day, So Audi have my car and keys, me thinking that all they will have to do is reprogramme the imobiliser chip in the keys job done, NOT, turns out the main Cambus unit has failed and will cost £780 for parts and labour, I have no choice as the car won't start until this unit has been replaced, the car has been fine since I have had it for the last two years, could this be the start of many failures to come, prob should start thinking about selling it on.
