carnell
Nice, very, very nice!I really want a set of Flashpoint rims that VWR used to have on their GTI but the only place i can find that sells them are in the US and it'd cost a fair whack to import them (taking into account shipping costs and import duty). It's a shame as I think they look fantastic: i spoke to Sam at vwr about these and he said they where the test wheels and they decided to drop the logo off these and go for the plain look ?? They dont do them with the logo on at vwr, that is the one i 1st saw
burble
From what I've seen they're very similar but the Flashpoint rims seem to have a bit more contour on the spokes. Mind you, for the price difference I'd happily get a set of the VWR rims.
carnell
Wheels look very good and contrast well with the neat side skirts Has ride been affected much? From a looks point of view the ride height looks ok to me. I would only do it if you feel handling requires it Hi TT Ride hasn't changed at all if anything feels more planted and tyres aren't scrubbed up yet, I think ride height looks ok aswell

These are the same wheels without logo have you had a look on racingline.com ? Look well on the R32 THEY ALSO PAINT THEM ANY COLOUR FOR THE SAME PRICE Edited October 18, 2009 by carnell
burble
I hadn't seen that picture - they do indeed look identical. I'll get my trip to Canada over and give VWR a call. I work in Milton Keynes so will see if I can pop over to have a look at a set in the flesh.

JonC
Hey JC have you seen what else is on my drive ?? how you getting on with your Navara Just had another look at your piccie and seen the Nav. Yours? Aventura? I really like them and as far as pick ups go, they're cool looking and better looking than the competition. It's no modded GTI or anything, but that doesn't bother me. I bought the truck for getting to MTB DH trails (taking it very seriously as I'm in training to start racing as of next year) and for that it's perfect - the bike fits in the back (securely with the snug top) without the need to remove the front wheel. There's oodles of room for kit etc and a luxurious (ok, not compared to German marques ) double cab upfront for Mrs C and our dog. It's not much better than the GTI on fuel, but I do like the big car driving position

Tipex
Holy crap, those are 19"s?? They look tiny!! I really really like those wheels, but I don't think they suit your car (sorry ). I'm not sure if it's the colour, the design, the size, or the wheel arch gap, but to me they don't look right.
Mook
I think it's the side of the Mk6 Golf rather than the wheels, Tipex. It's big. Stick those wheels on a dark grey metallic GTI

Mook
....I'm visiting VWR tomorrow, I must try and remember to ask how much those wheels weigh. You looking to save more weight over the OZs you bought?
Timski
Can anyone out there (who's cleverer than me) do a photochop (?) to show what Carnell's motor would look like with lowered suspension?
RedRobin
You looking to save more weight over the OZs you bought? ....Not currently. The OZ's weight saving was more for the improvements in steering feel and wheel performance rather than overall weight saving on the car as a whole. I'm sure that VWR can think of something to do to my car though : -
