gareth3
Hi all, just wondered if anyone knows how to leave the DSG gearbox 'in gear'? I'm barely driving it right now and am going to be away a lot so don't want the brakes to seize, not really sure if just leaving it in 'P' with bricks behind the back wheels would be right though, I'm assuming not? It's on a very slight hill too so not really wanting to choose the wrong option!!
DanG
Leaving the car in 'Park' is actually using the gearbox to stop it from moving, not the brakes. I'd still use the hand brake anyway, it's a very slim chance of bonding pad to disk in current conditions.
Cuprabob
As abobe you want to leave it in Park. Because of the interlocks you can't get the key out in any other position anyway. I would also use the handbrake lightly too. It does no harm to locate a brick behind the wheel for a belt and braces option
Mook
Stick it in park and don't bother with the bricks. It won't move.
