MrAvant
Hi Guy's, I have a 2001 Movano 2.2 cdti, been good as gold!!! Yesterday started her up and drove off a immdiately felt the loss of power (felt like it was being help back). It wont rev above 4k and can only do 50mph Max!!! I have a little OBD reader but cam back with no fault codes. Any help or suggestions will help before I give in and take it to the garage. Thanks
DanG
Can you hear the turbo spool up? Failed turbo actuator maybe? Weird that there are no fault codes which would have shown oxygen sensor or maf issues. Actually lack of boost / manifold pressure would also have shown up... bazza_g
Failed boost control valve? Had one fail on my 335d meanig no boost pressure can build, it had naff all power and maxed out at 70mph - that was very long, boring drive back from Le Mans! patently
Had similar symptoms on my 535d - no fault codes there, either. First time it was a sudden loss of power & was the turbo actuator solenoid. Fixed that, then it happened again only gradually. That time it was the turbo hoses having perished after 5 years/100k miles.
MrAvant
Just checked, turbo is spooling (albeit not that loud) and its not the MAF as I disconnected it to check. The quest continues...
MrAvant
Ok, Dropped it off to the garage this morning and had a call this afternoon stating thats the air mass meter was faulty. I did unplug this yesterday to see if it made a difference but it did not!!! Does always unplugging it reveal the fault (i.e. make it run normal if it is the faulty part?) patently
Well, if the problem is because the part is dead then unplugging it won't change anything (unless you go one step further & plug in a known good one).
