NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Don't do it!! NONO3.GIF

If you must have a badge on the car stating that it is something it's not then you might as well go the whole hog and put a Ferrari badge on it! You're clearly not bothered that it isn't one. ROLLEY~14.GIF

Bad as all these foglight blazing BMW 316 owners with their M badges. "Oooh look at that M3 over there, I didn't realise they had such small exhausts and plastic wheel trims, I wonder if the neon lights on the washer jets are original equipment?" yelrotflmao.gif

Now, I must ring the garage and see if those RS4 turbo nutter quattro badges have come in for my Cabrio yet... lol.gif

Quite.

Near where i live there used to be a guy with a 911 with a "959 replica" bodykit.

It looked OK, but to me he was driving a make believe wannabe car, whereas without the kit he'd have had a very smart 911.

I always felt I'd rather have been seen in a nice 911 than a car that was trying to look like something it wasn't. Bit like a fake Rolex, all it is really saying is "look what I wanted and couldn't afford"...

Try VAGParts or click on their banner, they sell parts a fair bit cheaper than your main dealer.

As for chipping then you already here ! browse through the Tuners forum, most of the chips have been covered one way or another, feel free to ask any questions.

Heres most of the tuners websites (Cheers Gammba wink.gif)

Is there no option to have them left off from factory? Instead of removing them yourself.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not in the current UK price list. Most Audi UK pricelists include the omission of badges as a no-cost option - but not the RS6 list. Any way, removal is very simple, and that way I still have them if I, or someone else, should decide to put them back on.

Personally, I don't have a problem with having some 'fun' with badges....but I wouldn't wish to badge a car of mine as something better from the range that I couldn't afford.

I have my modified 16v Golf GTI badged simply GTI...which was the designation for an 8v...people wonder why it seems fast!

I also have my S3 badged as a RS3. but since an RS3 never existed I have no issue with it...if the car were standard then I guess it would be somewhat more lame...but since it's fairly well sorted, I'm happy.

It's quite amusing listening to Subaru drivers say that those RS3s are quite quick, as they couldn't lose it...or moan that the reason they just got beaten was 'cos it's an RS3!

But, at the end of the day...each to their own.

I intend to remove the badges from my RS6 when it arrives......

[/ QUOTE ]

Not sure I see the point in this - anyone that knows about cars will recognise an RS6 by the huge exhasts and flared arches etc so the lack of badges won't matter.

Conversely, those that don't know much about cars won't understand the RS6 badge in the first place !!

(driver of an S3, cunningly badged 'S3' (old style)) !!!!

EssThree,

have you got an RS3 badge on ur grille ?? if so where did u get it from plz ? beerchug.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately it's not possible to buy an RS3 front badge, as the car has never existed.

And you can't make up one by buying an RS4 / RS6 front badge and removing the 4/6 and adding the 3 from an S3 badge as the 3 from S3 is smaller in size.

Hahahahahah!! yelrotflmao.gif

I assume that you are aiming this at me? ...and referring to me as a 'bellend'? (Which BTW is two words...not one)

I suggest you go and read the thread again...

We were referring to RS3 badges and the re-badging of cars as something that never existed

So, whether or not you could afford one...and whether or not you have been unfortunate enough to have recently smashed your previous car is irrelevant as the car was never produced and would therefore be impossible to buy with all the money in the world.

Your age and circumstances are also irrelevant as you have obviously miss-read the thread.

As for the "can't afford" part...again, if you had bothered to re-read the thread you would have noticed that there were references to 316 drivers with M3 badges fitted....that's where the "can't afford" comment was aimed.

So, instead of jumping in with both feet and getting all bent out of shape about thinking that I was in some way 'accusing' you of something...try to get rid of some of your pent up paranoia and you may see that there are people who are not out to 'have a go' at you....as that's the last thing I was attempting to do.

It's just a shame that some people seem to have to resort to hurling chlidish insults at others, instead of first finding out if the perceived offensive comment was aimed at them personally...which in this case it was definately not...I'm sorry you thought it was.
