MACH1
Anyone know why my engine management light is on? I have plugged the vag tester in and no fault recognised, So i turn the light off, it stays off for a few days then returns, car appears to be running smoothly so i am completly at a loss as to what it is, any help much appreciated. Also i have a small oil leak from the rocker cover at the very back of the engine, I have had it changed but i still have a small leak, any Ideas please. Dave
If your engine is burning oil then this will be picked up by the sensor (lambda?) in the exhaust and give you that message.

DanRS
Has an intermitant Engine management light on our 2.7t allroad... ended up being the lambda sensors themselves. Had 'em replaced been fine since. Thing is I think the generic engine management means it can potentially be lots of things. XFS
DanG
Engine Management Light can also come on if your fuel cap is not done up tightly... It can mean thousands of things. Could the leak be dropping oil presure perhaps? although I suppose you would get a code for that.... Lambda sensors would show a code too.. Are you getting absolutly no codes?? MACH1
No I'm getting no fault codes at all! I think I'm going to have to take the car into the Main Dealers to get it checked out, This is going to cost me I think.
