  1. Hi Im in Bournemouth in Dorset. Had a fab A4 2.5 Tdi Sport Cab for the last 4 years put 60k on the clock and loved the car but got the itch for more power (as usual) and dont have to put the miles in anymore.... So coupla weeks ago got bargain 2007 S4 quattro convertible in same (moro blue) colour -so its a stealth machine to my friends who climb in unwittingly and suddenly find that they are pinned to their seat by the g-forces when I give it some beans around a tight turn! Not all the same beastie! Love the power and whatever to the MPG its a toy!
  2. Hi I just sold my 2003 A4 B6 2.5 tdi cab which I owned for nearly 4 years - I loved it but got the itch for a high performance motor again......an S4. My experience - the soot-chucker A4 made a click when the ignition was left on long enough for the glowplugs to be hot enough to fire up the diesel fuel in cold conditions. Otherwise the car was very up-together and quiet indeed inside at all speeds with no odd noises squeaks, ticks etc and I drove it for 60k miles without incident and it still felt really tight when I sold it - quiet except at idle at the lights with the top down when it sounded like a panzer tank! (which I kinda liked). My 07 B7 S4 cab is considerably more boomy at cruising speeds despite an acoustic hood but it sounds fab under hard acceleration with the top down! So it sounds like there are a coupla issues with your cab and I can only say that Audi stealers know their cars and are great at sorting out little niggles - for £££££ - but thats what Audi ownership costs - I use them and take a hit but enjoy sorted cars. Hope this helps and very happy to discuss A4 2.5 Tdi Cab ownership!
  3. Roof down today from Plymouth to Poole - just to listen to the V8 symphony and enjoy sunshine for the first time in weeks!
  4. Oh well - thanks for asking........
  5. Tone thanks for the advice....will post some pics as soon as weather improves - car filthy at mo but it was very reassuring in the snow/slush/ice etc. Scotty I'm very interested in the Millteks.
  6. Just picked up a 2007 B7 S4 cab 6 speed in Moro with Black hood and Black Silk Nappa leather with white piping, carbon fibre cabin trim, xenons, RNS navigation, Bose, Multifunction Sports Steering Wheel, Homelink, 30k and FASH. Ex-lease from a car warehouse in B'ham Looks/drives as new throughout - just had check up with Poole Audi who say its an excellent example and they fell off their chairs when I told them what I had paid - £20k!! Its the effect of the economic downturn and the imminent S5 cab arrival that have hit used B7 A4 Cab values hard. I'm very happy! Oh yeah bought an extended full warranty out to 4 years for £600 - good with any Audi dealer. Great for peace of mind. Looking to fit Rear Parking Sensors, Cruise and Bluetooth - Milltek catbacks too.
  7. My 03 A4 cab has red LEDs, vanity mirror lights and red door warning lights but no door 'puddle' lights or footwell lights. I would like to retrofit them so if anybody has had a go at this would be grateful. In return can help with advice on fitting RNS-E, rear parking sensors, RS pedals and ABT spoilers.....and they all seem to work!
  8. Mine judders sometimes very slightly when pulling away - it feels like driveline shunt - like the engine/gearbox mounts are too flexible. Its not a big issue as its very slight and to be honest rarely noticeable. Hope it doesnt get worse.......
  9. If money was no object, I would buy a 3.0Tdi Quattro - but since, unfortunately, it is I have a 2003 2.5Tdi 2WD. I love the blend of smooth torque, especially when the turbocharger gets going, relaxed high speed cruising (I do a lot of motorway and A-Road miles) and the outstanding economy for a big heavy open topped cruiser. Its no sports car but its great for long-distance relaxed motoring. The only time I really know its a diesel is at the lights with the top down - but I quite like sounding like a Panzer Tank! It would drive better with quattro as the diesel's torque can cause the ESP to cut in in the wet when pulling out but the extra weight would be the downside. Hope this helps.
  10. Er my 'friend' got one from fleabay. Wiring is easy if you have the confidence to cut into your wiring loom near the NS rear light cluster. Only two wires need to be plumbed in - both are for the reversing light. Once the system is set up the loop of blue wire to the sensor control unit is cut and insulated. If you have fitted car radios etc yourself its a doddle. You will need a crimping tool and a hot air gun to make the connnections and seal them.
  11. I've got a spare one cos my car already had one on it when I bought the full kit from the stealer - he wouldn't split it. They are about £250 from the stealer I believe...
  12. After my last service in the warranty period, I was advised that I had a leaking rocker cover gasket. I didn't notice anything until I took the plastic engine cover off and then I could see a light film of oil in the area of the cylinder heads. The stealer did it all under warranty and all seems fine now. If it was noted while under warranty then I think they should fix it as it was a pre-existing condition before the warranty ended. Good luck.
  13. The ABT rear spoiler is glued on with adhesive included with the spoiler. It hasn't come off yet...
  14. Oh and by the way if you do have a go, on the cab, the circles marked inside the bumper ARE NOT for the sensors. The sensors are centred in 4 square panels sited inside the plastic reinforcement fixed inside the bumper panel. I nearly drilled large holes in the wrong place! The location for drilling is not very clear in ELSAWIN or the sensor instructions.
  15. They are easy to fit and the bumper is relatively, if time consuming, to remove and refit. You will need ELSAWIN to find out how to do it and for the diagarams. Without it it is difficult to know which nut/bolt to undo to get the bumper off. I did the whole thing on my own in an afternoon saving £300 that the stealers wanted.
  16. I dont think they will fit either - however I do believe that S3 mirror caps are identical to S4s so you have another avenue to explore there. I bought a genuine set from Fleabay - but be careful that they haven't been "borrowed"!
  17. I am going to change my front discs and pads myself (Audi A4 Cabriolet) - have the full instructions on how to do it and bought genuine pads and discs from Eurocar parts for £85. Going to do the job tomorrow..
  18. Mine came on 2 weeks ago still have 6 or so mm left on the pads. Have bought genuine ATE front discs and pads from Euro car parts for £85 and its tomorrows project to paint the calipers red and change the discs and pads.
  19. I dont know how much the aftermarket kit is - I bought a genuine one on Fleabay for £80 brand new. I fitted it 2 weeks ago or so (not difficult but time consuming and the stealers wanted around £300 to fit them!) and it is excellent - works very well indeed. You will need Audi spray paint to colour match them for a decent looking job.
  20. Drove home from work from Portsmouth to Poole with the top down late this afternoon - chickened out and put it up in Branksome Tesco. Thought it was going to rain. It didnt.
  21. My A4 2.5 Tdi Cab has the ABT chrome kit and front spoiler edging as you can see here - I got it from Swindon Audi at a very good price
  22. I got the front spoiler and chrome trim fwere part of a complete kit rom Swindon Audi - they advertised it on Fleabay and it was heavily discounted. The car came with the rear spoiler so I have a spare one still in its ABT packaging. The wheels were fitted to the car when it was an Audi demonstrator but were trashed so I got a new set from a fella in Germany - Ebay again! Vagparts supplied a few bits and bobs - like the SLine alu interior trim and the RS4 pedals. Fleabay again for the alloy mirrors and the parking sensors and RNS-E all of which I fitted myself. I may be able to help out with a short article on how to (and how not to!)retrofit parking sensors, RNS-E, mirror caps interior trim etc etc.
