  1. Hi, I can't give you a comparison to your Rangey as I've never driven one...more's the pity! All I can suggets is that you go to a Stealership and have a play in their demo cars. Then look at the pricing. Bear in mind that you might be able to pick up a demo car, just a few months old, which are usually loaded woith toys at a lower price. But, always look at tye new price with and without options. Even though we are supposedly coming out of a recession, there are still deals to be had....not necessarily at your local dealer. Try dealers in other towns, and specialist brokers as well. My Son works as an Audi Tech in Lancashire and we could probably introduce you to some the team at his place. Where are you? Leu us all know how you get on.
  2. Got mine in July this year. I had 4 Silver cars previously so went for white for a change. WOW! With the Zenon LED's it doesn't half get some looks. So be careful if you don't want to get noticed!! My engine chioce was he 2.0TDi 143BHP.I'ts giving an average of 43MPG with alot of motorway running. It now has 15,600 miles on it! I didn't opt for the Sat Nav as I thought it would be easier to get map upgrades etc for my Tom Tom...and cheaper! I am well happy with the performance anf the Exec interior which gives the leather/alcantara seats.I just wish I'd opted for the silver stitching option which gives a great contrast the the full black upholstery. My Son has this option on his A3 S Line and it looks great. Hope this helps Happy car hunting!
  3. mmm i thought that they pulling a fast one. Thanks for the link
  4. Hi All, It's new car time again...only 26k since the last one, but I've changed jobs, so:- I my firm ordered me a new 2.0TDi S Line saloon in February via our leasing company.. It looks like it was ordered with the 120PS engine by mistake, instead of the 143 PS unit. We have asked asked if it can be changed, but apparently Audi have come back and said that the 143 engine isn't available in the 2010 model year car. Or maybe the leasing firm can't be bothered to change it(?) Delivery is set for week 16, whenever that is. Has anybody on here heard about this engine change? Has any body driven this lower p[owered motor....I'll bet it's dog slow Maybe it will come with all the extras that have been listed? It'd be great to know all your thoughts. BTW, trying to get Audi to confirm but no answers yet. Thanks
  5. Sorry, I'll spell your name correctly next time, DOH!
  6. Hi Flakmonkey I have regularly got between 600 and 650 miles per tank on my old B7 A4 Tdi. It's a tad more thirsty on the new one, probably as it's still getting loose. Your maths are correct, remember that the DIS calculates average speeds/mpg etc in order to calculate the range of fuel that you have. It can fluctuate with varying driving conditions. That's why it's average. I don't know how or where you drive, but if, like me you do a combination of lots of motorway, ther a bit of A/B roads to get home ,then it will fluctuate. I think your MPG is about right. Hope this helps.
  7. According to the user manual, the max SD card is 2Mb.
  8. Usually get 600 to 650 out of a tank on this new one, with air con on as well. Before anybody asks, I don't hang about,.....but most of my miles are motorway!
  9. I thought the 18's with silver and with a light coloured interior would be a bit "bright" but it does look well, and not as "basic" as black. The seats are standard cloth. They are more comfy/firm than the old car as well. Just been playing with the SD card on the Concert unit, didn't realise that you could load 18 CD's onto 1 SD card. No more CD's rattling around in the glove box now and no need to buy an iPod or connector kit. The whole car is just a class above the B7 and IMHO beats the C Class hands down. I looked at a C220 Elegance before making a decsion to get another Audi. I know I made the right choice.
  10. It's the one with the, lowest miles of course...erm DOH!
  11. Thanks. No it's an S.E! I still think the S Line is too harsh for me...I like a motorway cruiser with all the miles that I do. I didn't dip into the options list much, we paid for just the wheels and the phone kit. The B & O kit was free as I am existing Audi customer. Seems that all Audi customers can get this free kit if they buy another one.
  12. After much messing about with lost bank drafts..honest! The new A4 is on my drive. I've pottered around town for a bit, then had a round trip to Stoke down the M6. There is so much difference between this B8 and the old B7. It's quieter for a start, feels solid and sturdy. It feels abit bigger that the old A4 as well, but not as big as the A6.I thought that the 18" rims and low profile tyres would have made the ride a bit firmer but it's bang on. Power delivery is smoother and it feels a tad more torquier. This has to be because of the comon rail injection system. The day time running lights make people turn their heads. It certainly lets other people know you are on the road. The interior is a way better layout with more adjustements for the electronics over the old car. It looks justlike a pseudo MMI control with a similar screen. This, coupled with the B&O sounds makes for a great escape from reality when the volume is up. Many people have mentioned the offset pedals. IMHO they are not a problem, you don't have to bend your body sideways to work them!.. There is room for my size 10 along side the clutch pedal. Some one mentioned that the lack of a footrest was a worry, but again, it all works fine. The only tricky new bit to get used to is the electro-mechanical handbrake. You have to press your foot on the footbrake before letting it off. I thought it would be tricky on a hill start, but Audi have thought about this as well in that, it senses when you want to move off (get the clutch to biting point etc) and then releases it automatically. Un-nerving at first, but it works great and you soon get used to it. I've attached some pics showing various views, and one alongside the old car. Right I'm off to enjoy some more miles now.
  13. I saw a black one this morning on the M62 going to Leeds..not a good colour. Just off the phone chasing mine up...funds from the leasing comany have only just been released to the dealer, so it looks like it will be Monday delivery now.
  14. Nah it's still on it's suspension blocks that they use on the transporter. Ground clearance will be returned to normal after PDI....it should be done by now.
