  3. Thanks to Gordon Brown and George Bush not being able to run there respective countries in terms of the economy, along with falling residual car values, aswell as someone starting a rumour that a R32 is a girls car I cancelled my order for my R32. As much as i think it is a sensible decision i was really looking forward to my road trip to Germany and the Nurburgring to pick up the R. With the fall in the Euro rate and uncertain times ahead it was working out cheaper to walk into a local dealer to buy the car. So until things improve there is going to be no R, as much as i want one, the road trip itself was the big seller, plus when it comes down to it 25k plus is a lot of money for a Golf, no offense guys . However I might consider actually buying a sorted MKIV instead. This was my old R for those who didnt see it I must admit it is tempting to go back. This is what i was driving before, during, and after the R And this what I have just bought to keep myself mobile. A seven year old 330i sport petrol automatic I think you will agree i seem to be going backwards. The only light at the end of the tunnel seems to be that i know have a deposit held with VW - Audi for a new RHD car so possibly if i rob a few banks, dont buy another R, and win the lottery i might be able to get a new RS4 in 2010. Thanks for looking and reading
  4. Cheers guys thats good advice, is it Meguiars that makes the scratch x. Also will the shine on package work on black Paul? I have AG SRP and Collingnite protection wax so at least i have a few things also what is CG EZ Creme Glaze and where is best to get it, sorry not up on all the abbreviations yet i will get there. The car is BMW metallic black, sapphire black i think if it is any help. Few extra questions, Is sonus clay the best clay. What are the best applicators to use for polish, without the risk of sounding like a girl i find the small foam applicator pads make my hands cramp up after doing a few cars and a few coats please advise. Sorry guys last one, i am looking through stuff on Elite what is the best leather care dont like the stuff that makes leather all shinny I prefer the natural look. Thanks in Advance
  5. Have just bought a second hand car to keep myself going. On the surface it looked tidy enough when i bought it, however after closer inspection and a weekend of TLC i have noticed a few marks. Is there any way of repairing marks in the laqueur of the paint from what looks like has been dried in birdshit. Being a black car you can only notice it when its sparkling but i know that they are there thats the worst about it. Is there any way of removing, improving, or taking the bad look off it. Thanks in advance
  6. This is just the HD DVD player not the console. Make me a offer someone, as it is gathering dust and is packaged up and ready to go.

Meguiars Gold glass car shampoo Lambswool mitt Autoglym Resin Polish Pinnacle Carnuba Wax Colingnite Protection Wax Microfibre polishing cloths Foam applicator pads Waffer drying towel Might not be the best stuff in the world but better than a dirty old sponge or a car wash right. Thanks in advance Any of you based in N Ireland or could recommend someone there for detailing or good quality valeting.

  14. Nice one Burble at least you now get to enjoy the R in all its glory
  15. It is simple enough to do it yourself i have done it about four times now two or three were on a standard golf, but also did my own R it is relatively simple as long as you have a helping hand so not to damge bumper on removal. And believe me i am no mechanic. As for the starting i have no idea cold weather doesnt help and maybe spark plugs might need replaced but they should pick it up if it is in for major service. If not notify them of the difficulties.
  16. As above what is the best way or product to remove paint from leather. There is a few marks the flecks nearly look like a bit of overspray or something and there is also a slight smear where somebody has tried to remove or wipe the paint when still wet. Please advise as i had bought this car for the wife a couple of weeks ago but she is not to fussed on it and i am trying to sell it. Had not noticed the marks untill i started to try and clean it up to put up for sale. I dont know whether it makes any difference im sure leather is leather but the car in question is a BMW Thanks in Advance
  17. Burble do you have a part no. I have a really good contact in Germany within the car trade, cant promise anything but will give it a go for you its only a quick email afterall.
  18. This is strictly my opinion. Global markets whether it be exchange rates, fuel prices, or property are going through its safe to say some uncertainty. People are very nervous about there money some want to cash in some will try to ride through the storm. To me its the same with the car trade realistically it is the auction market that controls the values along with finance houses of the cars we buy and sell today. I think private buyers and sellers are in a state of panic plus the fact that bigger engine cars are getting hit for road tax. I would be at a few auctions and cars are still getting over book price. Its all to do with the rate of inflation its the same as our parents mortgages against what we pay, possibly our children or there children may have to pay £300 road tax standard no matter what you are driving. My sister was complaining about the price of diesel, in the end of the day you still need to get to and from your workplace and go about your everyday life. Life has to continue......... Wooooohhhh...... idont know what came over me there, i could have gone on but i will spare the misery it is the weekend afterall I guess what i am trying to say is if you are in no huge panic to sell dont, i personally think with everything considered the market will come back in the short term, who knows what it could be like in 6 monthhs time though, but again please dont quote me on that its just my 2 bobs worth . The launch however of the MKVI is also going to hugely effect residual values of both MKIV and MKVs.
  19. TP27 do you have more of a side on pic. They are a bloody nice wheel arent they. I think i have 8.5s on my golf at the moment only 18s mind, but they are not compatible from MKIV to MKV are they?
  20. I know superchips do one here is the link otherwise might be worth buying a specialist Land Rover mag and check out what they recommend. http://www.superchips.co.uk/models.php IMO a remap on a diesel has a significant difference i have a custom remap on my GTTDI golf 130 to approx 175 bhp not huge in BHP figures but just bundles of torque especially in third and fourth gear. I would say this would be similar in the Disco may give slight improvement in fuel economy if you dont go to mental
  21. Nice one Hoops that sold pretty quickly which i am sure was the result that you wanted. Disco 3 will be a bit of a change although only short term untill the EVO or Skyline shows up my choice would be Skyline. I also hear you can get a decent remap on the Disco By the way good feedback on the R32.
