  1. Had the car with a mechanic today, have checked absolutely everything we can on it , and by process of elimination we think its the Haldex unit. So i am wondering whether anyone has upgraded to the performance part and could sell me there old one for a few quid.
  2. Yep one of my regrets in life as well Mook, i feel your pain, This is definately a future classic in my opinion the first and last drivers R32 with loads of character and a rawness that isnt in the newer car, and with the prospect or should i say confirmation of the R20 using a 2.0L these will become more sought after, a classic Vee Dub Apologies i cant remember how to post pics properly My car had the following mods 18" x 8.5 BBS CHs Smoke tint all round Rear wiper deletion Full manifold back heat rapped Milltek exhaust CAI cant remember make Superchip Haldex upgrade Lenny if hes still on here drove the car it was a weapon, pulled like and absolute train. Never had it on rolling road but i reckon approx 265-275BHP but the exhaust note was to die for.
  3. Sounds a bit extreme, is your car still under warranty? to tell you the truth doesnt even matter if it was or not use a genuine VW part fitted by a VAT registered garage and it will not affect your warranty. I have just replaced a spring in a S3 £60 from Audi and £44 aftermarket, plus a couple of hours labour taking maybe £140-£160Max.
  4. I realize they are different beasts but i would say that i have driven probably around half a dozen Quattros and haldex system cars and all of them have had this problem in some shape or form from the mild to the severe. Was just hoping that it would be a common problem and a easy fix. Hopefully burble it not a diff otherwise i will ending up driving the car into the ground. If it was a diff surely you would be getting noise etc. on full acceleration hard cornering rather than slow turning, movements etc. Any other suggestions welcome
  5. Any other solutions to the juddering, skipping, crabing that the car is doing other than Haldex. Was driving a mates 06 A4 Sline Quattro and its worth mentioning that his car did the same but not as violently as my own. Is this a characteristic of the Quattro system whether full system or haldex.
  6. Cheers for your feedback guys will let you know if i have any joy
  7. Game are doing a offer trade in COD4 or a whole list of games and get modern warfare 2 half price.
  8. Cheers Paul for your reply, have had the car with a half decent mechanic who has had the diagnostics machine on it and no faults are showing. Is a diverter valve cheap or expensive as i dont want to spend to much money on the car as i am selling it. As far as haldex is concerned as far as i am aware the car is standard how do you distinquish between a standard haldex and a switchable one. Could it be that the haldex unit has failed on the car????? please no that im sure will be expensive.
  9. I currently am trying to sell my S3 at the moment and am having real problems with it. I have had a couple people out looking at it and due to this problem they have walked away from the car. Here goes sorry for any poor terminology 1. Car is driving one hundred percent apart from in slow manoevuring if you have say half to full lock on moving into a junction or drive way for example, there is a loud juddering coming from the rear of the car when you move off, nearly feels like its skipping its very strange. 2. Wheel bearings suspension etc. seem fine car has done 70k odd miles and i am unsure whether haldex has ever been serviced does this sound like a Haldex problem if so is it easy enough to service and will it sort this problem out. 3. Also i have noticed this from the first day i drove the car when you give it the welly in first or second gear it seems to hold its revs between gear changes. Never really bothered me but sounds suspect when you are trying to sell the thing, is there any simple mods that can be done to rectify like a simple remap etc Thanks in advance for your comments your advice is always appreciated. Cheers
  10. Lenny, how you doing it has been a while, i have been keeping an eye in on TSN. Noticed your post the car looks awesome and although you say you have finished you know as well as i do there will be a bit more hard earned cash thrown towards it. Car looks the muts nuts if you are ever tempted to sell it keep in touch, funny was looking at an RS4 last week in sprint blue an 06 car with 30k miles and well back in the money fortunately the old bank balance didnt allow for it. Keep modding the R32
  11. Fair point what about a Seat/VW/Ford 7 seater and take out the back row of seats and if needed fit a roofbox. Also would be easy enough sold when you are done with it.
  12. Volkswagen Transporter would be my choice have worked for VW and Mercedes commercials in the past and because of that have had the oppurtunity to drive most of the vans on the market. Are you looking to carry big weight or is it more the space you need. There is quite a few for sale locally with me, what are you looking to spend and are you VAT registered. If it was my money i would be buying A VW T5 T28/30 SWB/LWB but defo with the bigger 2.5TDI 174psi which has stunning performance for a van and still returns around 500miles to a tank of diesel. Hope this helps any questions please ask.
  13. Been keeping a eye on this post, again a great job, keep up the good work If you are ever tempted by a trip to Belfast bring your gear with you, im sure i could get a few cars lined up for you. As well as a few local TSN ers
  14. Thats good to hear what machine do you have the 6131 or 6151sx which is better?
  15. I have also been offered a Numatic CT470 is this a better machine than the Vax?
  16. So you would recommend the Vax then drpellypo, they seem to all be around the £150 mark and only one multi combination model as per link. Will the one on the link be the best for a small time outfit like myself. What about the power washer, karcher? If so what model is the best for your pound? Thanks in advance
  17. In addition power washes are Karcher the best?
  18. I am a part time motor trader and my friend and myself are looking to set up a valeting service, to cater for both the trade vehicles i sell and additional customers. I have been storing up and using your expertise over the last year or so with great results. However we have cleaned a few MPVs etc recently and although we can do the outside justice the interior is lacking somewhat. What is the best product on the market within £150 - £250 price bracket that is going to give good vacum performance as well as washing carpets seats etc.? Is it better to buy a product that will do both or two seperate machines? Had been looking at this Linky Are they any good? Please advise on this or any other products as i have a couple of cars needing the seats etc done. Also is it possible to buy second hand or reconditioned machines Vax or otherwise. Thanks in advance
  19. On a final note all I can assure you is that everything i sell is above board has been checked, clear on HPI, recently serviced if required, professionally valeted, if there is a balance of manufacturers warranty it will be transfered, and as dave k says trading standards says that a consumer will be covered for three months which i would honour. Additional warranties will also be offered. I am VAT registered and everything goes through my accounts. I advertise on Autotrader as a trade seller im not trying to hide anything, and as i understand they also give a 30 day warranty. To reply to Macs comment all advertising has been paid for and i am only providing a link to another website. A police men wouldnt ask me half these questions, however in the interest of hopefully trying to sell a few motors i am happy to clear the air. Never mind all this has anyone any interest in either of the cars. Thanks
  20. Gee Rustynuts you are persistant, i have said in the posts above that i am what some may consider to be a trader albeit a part time one who might only sell 2-3 cars a month. However to make you happy the answer to your question is no they are not registered in my name one vehicle is on a SORN declaration the other has some road tax left on it however the V5 has been sent to DVLA with my details, if you must know. As i have said above i thought i would offer TSN members a few cars a month however i didnt expect a Spanish inquisistion into my trading status. In future thanks to a few over curious people i will not bother. See you on future TSN posts but not selling any cars unless it is my own. Thanks and thanks for looking
  21. Yes small time trader and enjoying driving a few cars depriciation free. As i said a few cars a month to help out with the bills not exactly make me a full time wheeler dealer or a main dealer. I just thought that either one of the cars may be of interest to TSN members Whats your opinions do you think i should post when i have a couple of cars for sale or not. If not not to worry will just continue to be a TSN member and will sell the cars elsewhere.
  22. Very good Bazza i cant perform magic not even a bloody card trick. The sourcing side of things is from 10+years in the motor trade up to a few years ago then took a different career path. Although i have plenty of contacts that if someone is looking for a certain type of car or within a certain budget most of the time i can "source" something for them, as well as "sourcing" new vehicles from Europe as per customers request. Not my idea most of the time i just operate under RF Vehicles. When i set up the account with Pistonheads that was the name at the time, my mate who is a graphic designer came up with it. Not a fan of it, it opens me up to a bit of stick thanks again Bazza On a serious note if anyone is interested get in contact
  23. No as my post says im not a full time trader just a couple every month to help out with bills, i wouldnt class myself as a trader, however depends which way you look at it. To be honest because it is only to help out, my prices are generally (apart from M3 cause it was bought for myself) alot cheaper than a dealers would be. As a matter of interest and my own curiousity Is there a unwritten rule or rule that i dont know about, that doesnt let people like myself advertise on general marketplace ? If so apologies, and i will not post anything similar again. Hopefully this is not the case and i can put a few interesting cars up for sale every month which fellow TSN users may get the benefit from Thanks Apologies Dansky if you were looking for the short reply which is, kind of
  24. Had bought these cars recently and are up for sale. The 330i to fill the gap between R32s however order is now cancelled for R32 and undecided what to buy. The M3 to enjoy and sell on, but the missus cant get on with the SMG gearbox Just to clarify this is only a part time thing for me selling a few cars to help out with mortgage bills etc. So im not a main dealer or anything cause they get a hard enough time on here, i wouldnt want to be getting the same stick PM me or use details on link, Hopefully the link works web page Thanks for looking
