  1. Depends where you live and what wheels you have?I find it less of a hassle driving to the french Alps, no fannying around no being ripped off with baggage charges and for extra pairs of skis, ski equipment is ski equipment! Not 50 quid for every additional pair of ski/board equipment as airlinese have strated charging for additional equipment. Its not like before, you cant just bang it all in one bag now apparently as you have to disclose what you have......it rediculous. Car/Van everytime for me.
  2. Sounds like a connection problem either at you throttle pedal connector or at the throttle body connector. It may even be the wiring itself? Failing that id push it off a cliff on fire
  3. Need your model/engine size there my friend. If its a diesel some do suffer with porus heads im afraid done a fair few myself 2.0 PDs and 1.9's and they tend mainly to go on the inlet ports on these due to castings(easily detected) but lately they have leaked internally into the oil galleries-hence your sludge!!!!!The odd head gasket does occur, but very very very rare do you machine these heads as they do measure up rather well........its the truth, unless its been cooked to buggery! Get it checked properly not just guess-ometer "oh it needs a head" could even be and EGR cooler? How bad is the oil?
  4. Hello there.......just to let you know if you buy the new grommets that go into the A pillar there is a wee cross of rubber. Do me a favour, cut the cross off so it leaves a hole with a tidy pair of scissors as thats what i do with the new ones. This helps prevent bulid up of sediment in that part. As for the water in your connector it is possibly as you described. best regards Tidy............sorry people not been around been working heaps!!!!
  5. Most torque wrenches are click type and would recommend using one!!!!! The angular torque is that it stretches the fastener which is the most important part and should be done with a rigid bar! Like i said PM me i can sort exact torque etc if thats what you would like. Norbar are an exceedingly good quality and very accurate troque wrench.......they seem to hold their settings year after year when calibration is due -every 6 months
  6. So i take it you have replaced the rear subframe bushes(both of them) The big cylindrical type ones? What sort of age is you car? The other thing could be the top mounts for the dampers have been known for problems, but going on what you are saying it sounds like subframe bushes.
  7. VW state that most of their PD engined cars are not designed to run on BIO, and as Shark correctly states with the fuel pumps on the V6 2.5 TDI's they dont like it!I'd be interested to find out what sort of MPG you are doing?
  8. PM me i have a means of access.
  9. Perhaps the chubbo nurse fancies you(you may be a looker in her eye) and wants your tally whacker, for you to destroy her ,smash her back doors in,make her walk like John Wayne for a week.......or the best option ride her like Sea Biscuit to make her try and see sense?
  10. Yea you will find that is the case my friend good result. The Audis suffer just as bad with the Piezo pump injectors as do VW. I do quite often have 1 or more injectors go down in one hit!!!!(The Feckers) VW are well aware of this and are replacing those that go down FOC. If subsequent injectors go down ie one goes down then say month later another goes they replace the remaining injectors FOC!!!!
  11. still looking! But why is it not running yet???? no rad no air box connected or diddly squat!!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/saabrobz/5647103076/in/photostream/
  12. First impression was....whats the point, but im still trawling through the pictures and ive gotta say its an extravagant yet well thought out piece of engineering cant wait to see it YouTube thrashing it round. What was the guy thinking when he decided to do this? Thing is though being in the motor trade i always think about the poor Fecker that has To work on it when it all goes Pete Tong!
  13. No worries there at all my friend, glad to be of service!!!!!
  14. Sorry but you do not have to work on them day in day out. The V6 is far superior and they have dropped that R5 engine because it is kak! Water pumps a plenty, a few head gaskets here and there turbo/EGR problems. V6's are a joy no real major issues to be honest+++ You must be one of the fortunate ones my friend.
  15. Later cars the tech has got more and more advanced so possibly the tea leaves have not quite sussed it yet. Must be an inside job for it to be that quick?????? The market for used parts for a vehicle of that age is bigger than say a newer vehicle as it would stick out like a sore thumb if you get my drift. PLUS.........not sure about Audi, but VW are helping to combat key copying of any kind. When ordering a key weather it be part coded as some are or the laser cut jobbies they key number is no longer given to the parts person or customer.
  16. Its been in the pipeline for quite a while ........no pun intended, for VW have been playing around with this stuff and other things for a number of years developing it as have Audi.
  17. Dont like to be a sceptic but when was his vehicle last in at an Audi retailer? Did it have any work relating to a key or remote? The reason i ask is that I being in the retailers its quite easy IF!!!! an intermittent key issue arose, say under warranty and they didnt request it back could quite easily in this current climate to fall into the wrong hands. To literally walk up and straight in and off has to be something like that OR really big fish stealing to order with very hi tech gadgetry to clone keys transponders etc.
  18. Yes my turn now.......i was wondering if anyone or if their are any Audi master techs/techs on here have encountered issues with TT dashpods temperature of fuel gauge? Temp when cold and ignition on sits on the first mark after 50 straight away, then when warm its nearly in the red!!!! No issue as im aware with fuel gauge as yet!(fingers crossed on that. Is it correct that being 2003 falls into the free replacement if you have full retailer history? Its a 2003 TT 3.2 DSG many toys etc....its a friends car and i was looking at it for him on the side as he did not want Audi looking at it due to the fact they want loads to look at it, plus he trusts me not the last load of sh1te they tried ripping him off for. I have checked/substituted G62 temp sensor and checked wiring to it all ok. No faults stored....i have a VAS 5052A at my disposal. Checked MVB's all ok as car is not overheating and the climate also tells me also(he is using that as his temp gauge at the moment.) Carried out the output DTM for dash panel insert.......the temp gauge didnt go all the way back to zero, so im heading toward dash pod or repairing it if i can.....info on repairing the temp gauge rather than shelling out 6 to 800 quid would be greatly appreciated.....regards TidyDubs
  19. I do apologise........i have confused it with Bronte as there is a pool there also but not on that scale doh!!!
  20. Rarely do PCV's give any grief at all. The code is as described above....unfortunately. I deal with this fault alot where customers have driven around with a misfire for a couple of weeks!!!!! Little do they know what damage it has done. They also do use a bit of oil depending on the quality of oil.
  21. Most of the VW's are a complete lot turbo and exhaust manifold.
  22. Dude that is not Bondi that is Bronte........i know as ive surfed it when the tide was higher........:D
  23. Dude.....no 4 cylinder is furthest away from cambelt end. I would suggest an injector replacement and wiring loom in head first.......check the compression of all cylinders also first.
  24. Where did you blag you VAS tester from? the wiring loom is part of the repair on the VW's about 60 quid there abouts......injectors are on an exchange basis used to be 800 quid there abouts as you could not get exchange ones. BUT!!!!! they have considerably come down now possibly 400 quid ???? not too sure. You will have to replace the bolts etc also as they are all stretch type.
