Hi gentlemen, Been a long time since i posted on here but I was talking to a friend who has driven a few S3's and he said the service costs are rather high. I'm looking to purchase one soon but how much are the service costs and he also told me that the major service is a costly one. To change the timing belt you would have to take the wings off? thanks for your help.

oh dear, If that's the car I'm thinking it is it belongs to the kid who used to live across the road of my house. I think he's about 18/19 now. If that's a 1.4 civic it is him but he's moved now. Although I have seen him ripping round the streets (if u can in a 1.4) with those huge stickers on. welcome to tyresmoke mate! Stratford eh! Get a tracker fitted would be a rather good idea. I know u've got a budget of 10k but can you get an S3 for that price? If you've got a couple of extra 2k i think u should be able to get one and if you hunt around hard enough u might be able to get a gooden! I'm thinking about buying a car this year and have been doing huge amounts of research. 10k you could buy you an audi 1.8T with the 150 bhp to tinker with but I would really add the 2 or so k and get an S3. It's a 4wd drive car and is the top of it's range. Saying that after you've blown the budget and bought a A3 turbo and cosmetically changed it drastically or put a kit on it it might actually cost more than insuring the S3! I think the S3 is in group 17? (please correct me if i'm wrong) if u've got ur heart set on modifying here's a helpful audi link. http://www.cessories.net/

kinda silly question to ask u but have u honestly had any problems concerning the porsche calipers and alloys? I mean they are a hair width apart from each other?
