  1. How about a Laguna? Now in a Privelege 1.9DCi - drives well, lots of gadgets .... ... oops, must change my avatar!
  2. It's the 1.8 Turbo 20 V Sport (AC) model - down to £2950, or make me a REASONABLE offer!
  3. Hi 1997/ R VW Passat 20V Sport for sale Burgundy, 111k miles, FSH, climate control, CD multichanger, pre-wired for phone kit, new tyres & brakes all round recently, just serviced, MOT Jun 06. Offers in region of £3k Cheers Darren 07734 470896
  4. That worked for me - You can do the same for the inspection warning too!
  5. I had insurance with Egg, after a nast experience with Norwich Union, but have just reduced my premium by £150, down to £350 with Egg, and on top of that get 0% interest Happy Christmas to me ....
  6. The easy way to check that the alarm is disabled is that the red light on the drivers door inside button doesn't flash :-)
  7. Don't know how to check the alarm completely, but how about disabling it ("blip" key fob twice I think?) and then seeing if it's ok after a couple of days?
  8. Not got anything like a GPS or similar plugged/ wired in have you? Managed to drain mine by leaving it for a week with the GPS plugged in ... :-(
  9. Try the Audi Specialists: Audi Specialists 40 The Causeway Burwell 01638 606700 Good prices - bought my 1.8T Passat from them
  10. To check if it is your drive shafts, you can use a trick I used when I had a Landrover ....... Put two jubiliee clips on each driveshaft, with the "weights" opposing each other about 1/3 of the way along the driveshaft each. Do this on both driveshafts. If your vibration disappears, you know what the problem is. You can then remove clips from each driveshaft in turn to isolate the one that is unbalanced. HTH
  11. They lived in the Rectory, opposite the hospital. Small world!
  12. With a rabbit hutch on the roof, on the way back I managed to get about 35mpg. Without, I expect it would have been around 37-39 at a constant 80-85mph. Was up in Rothbury, where the in laws lived until this week!
  13. Had mine checked - stealer said it was fine Will double check on its MOT in 2 weeks
  14. Why not a golf then? The A4 1.6 that I had as a company car (before they upgraded to an oilburner 130bhp) was so slow I thought I was going backwards! Will your insurance not stretch to a Passat 1.8 (not the 1.8T)?
