  1. Hi Craigyb, When did those maps come out please and how much are they? (I purchased my car March 2010, but I'm assuming these maps came out later than that?)
  2. Thanks for the update, very interested to hear how you get on!
  3. Brilliant, thanks for posting this - do you know is this a free update or a chargeable map update?
  4. Yep those are the wheels. Audi UK have just phoned me. There are no other signs of damage on the car, and given that I drive it all the time I know it's not been damaged in a pot hole or otherwise. There is no visible damage to the wheel either, except the crack on the inside edge. But Audi UK Customer services have point blank refused it to be a warranty issue, and will not cover it, or offer any form of contribution to the cost of replacing it. I'm utterly fed up to be honest. Can't go anywhere from here as it is Audi UK themselves that are saying No.... Disgusted, and fed up with Audi right now
  5. Hedging my bets at present and checking ebay for replacement 19" alloys, can anyone tell me if the 19" A4 le mans alloys are identical to the A6 le mans 19" alloys please ?
  6. mmmm Dealer has said the wheel is out of shape, which "proves" that the crack was caused by an impact ... I have argued that a) once the wheel has a crack, it is then bound to be out of shape by the very nature that it has a crack in it !, so it's pointless to say it is out of shape now, after the event ! b) even if it has been caused by an "impact" then that impact is no more than normal road conditions, and therefore the wheel was either faulty or not fit for purpose. They couldn't replace the wheel under warranty there and then of course, so I have been forced into the position of having to pay for a new alloy (I can't be without a spare) and then take it up with Audi UK. (around £395 inc Vat) Have called Audi UK again, a case handler will call me back early next week... I'll post how we get on...
  7. Cheers Tipex, have spoken with Audi UK, they seem to think it will be covered so am now in the process of getting local dealership to look at it
  8. Came out the the car this morning to find a flat front passenger side Put the spare on, and after a few jobs been to see the tyre people, firstly blown away by £275.00 for a new tyre (I've not got it, will search on blackcircles) and secondly been told that the reason the tyre went flat is due to the alloy being cracked. My car is the Audi A6 Le Mans, only 4 months old, with the 19" alloys, 244/35/ZR 19 96Y R01... Audi dealer says cracked alloys not covered under warranty, but I've not driven it off road or anything daft, so surely the alloy is either faulty or not fit for purpose ?? Anyone had any joy with Audi re replacement alloys when cracked please ?
  9. Top man That cured it, thanks
  10. I may have answered my own question, in my service book it says an oil change is due every 9000 miles if the car has not had a "longlife" service - perhaps after this fisrt service it will then go the 18k to the next one ?
  11. I already looked there, setup, settings, menu language - i'ts set to English The German messages seem to be : When you first turn the key Service indicator Over speed warning (the one you set yourself) everything else is in English...
  12. Hi All, My A6 has German messages in the DIS display - dealer said there was a setting I could alter but I'm buggered if I can find it ! Most messages are in English, but for example when starting the car there is a message in German, and the message about how many miles till service also comes up in German... Any clues as to how to change this please ?
  13. Hi All, My A6 has just pinged up that it is due a service in 1400 miles.... It's only done around 8k so far, and I've only had it since May... I do tend to drive my cars relatively hard when on A roads I'll admit, but the majority of my miles are motorway, most on cruise at 88mph indicated, so I am surprised that the computer is suggesting a service so early... My previous cars, 2004 Audi A4 1.8T and Mercedes 2007 C200 CDI both managed around 16-18k between services on variable indicators with the same driving styles.... Is my experience typical with the A6 ? should I ask at the dealership or are they likely to just say I'm driving it too hard ? It's going to cost me a fortune if it needs a service every 9k miles !!!
  14. Ouch, that's annoying Thanks for the advice, hopefully there will be some new cradles for newer phones or a bluetooth rsap module soon.
  15. Thanks for the replies ah nuts, looks like I have the low phone prep too - is it possible to upgrade from low to high phone prep ? or do they do a cradle for e71/e72 ?
  16. Hi All, After a couple of years away I have returned to the fold with a new A6 S line 2.0 TDI - and loving it One thing is bugging me though, I have the High Spec MMI (Hard drive and 3D Nav) which offers bluetooth connection to my Nokia E72. Unfortunately it connects in headset mode which means it uses the phones own aerial for the signal. The car does have the mobile aerial fin on the roof so is there anway to force the MMI / phone to connect as Sim Access Profile (SAP) instead so that it uses the better aerial of the car ? Hope someone knows and can help !
  17. I forgot ! also has a full size Alloy spare, split rear seats, and a first aid kit
  18. It looks identical to this one : http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/classicd...22507578_1a.jpg Except it has the proper 1.8T badge on the rear, and mine has the extras listed above - cruise, rear PDC, RNS -DVD NAV, Audi Bluetooth, Rear Blind, 6 disc changer, AMD 1 Click. 14k with room to deal
  19. Time to say goodbye to my cherished A4 May 04 Reg - balance of warranty remaining 59,000 miles (all motorway cruising !) 1.8T Sline 190 BHP Special Edition - Multitronic - Brilliant Red Full Audi service history, including the 40k Multitronic gearbox oil change. Just had the Gearbox serviced under warranty and uprated to the new 7 plate clutch system as well so no worries there. Normal Audi A4 190BHP S line kit list : Remote Locking, Electric Front Windows, Electric Heated mirrors, DIS, ABS, Traction, 18" Wheels, Sline Body, Alarm, Imobiliser, Half Leather, Sports Seats, Sports trim and wheel, Airbags etc etc. In addition to all the standard spec it has :- Audi Rear Sunblind, Audi Boot liner, RNS-E DVD Sat Nav (with TMC), 6 Disc glove box changer, Audi Bluetooth integrated phone kit (integrates with DIS and RNS-E fully), Rear PDC, and Cruise Control. Also has an AMD 1-click custom remap, which you can effectively add and remove whenever you like, increases the bhp to around 215. Has recently (December) had a large service, including new rear discs and pads (replaced due to a faulty caliper not harsh driving !) and is showing 13k till next service. Had 4 new tyres (Pirreli) fitted end of November, rears in excellent condition and fronts in good still. Looking for offers around 14k, available pretty much straight away
  20. Its a saloon, not avant. I found one on autotrader, a trader, same age, colour and very close milage at 13.995. However as you say the RNS-E and Audi Bluetooth, cruise control, rear PDC, and rear blind are all retrofits and so extra to what the one in autotrader has. It makes it very difficult to work out a selling price, and I don't even know if its worth removing the RNS-E and Audi bluetooth and selling those on here for example instead of in the car - I may actually get more for them than I would be able to get in the car ?
  21. I've always looked to trade my cars in against the new one in the past, but I'm considering a private sale for my current A4 - any idea how much I should pitch this at on Autotrader ? May 04 Audi A4 1.8T 190BHP Special Edition S Line, Brilliant Red, 59,000 miles, Multi-tronic (uprated to 7 plate clutch), RNS E Sat Nav, Audi Bluetooth Phone prep, 6 Disc Changer, Cruise Control, Rear PDC, rear sun blind, DIS, all usual S Line extras (interior light pack, split rear seat, half leather sports, sports suspension, 18" wheels, etc.) Full Audi SH of course Also I have a one click remap for it, do you think it prudent to sell that with the car or remove it ?
  22. Forgot all about this, sorry for the long delay !!! Free to a good home, "buyer" to collect or to arrange collection
  23. well, I've had the clutch plate uprated now and the car drives smoother than ever. Apparently they had to strip the box down in order to upgrade the clutch plates. I was also told that if I had not had the 40k Gearbox fluid change (which I did) then Audi would not have covered the cost (although I would have contested that given that I've only 56k on the clock). Talking to the techy guy they seem to get quite a few of these, there are some tech docs about it as he knew all the symptoms even before I took him on a test drive. I'm told that I should have the Gearbox fluid changed at 80k as well, but I dont think ill still have the car by then !
  24. Whilst looking into my own problems i came across this link :- http://www.inde-tech.co.uk/multitronic.html mines covered under warranty, but these guys might be a worth a shot if you're out of warranty ?
