Leather conditioner

Is there a point where you can apply too much leather conditioner ?

A friend of mine is always applying it, he even has a bottle in the cabin that he uses to condition the front seats when he is stuck in traffic !

I would have thought if you apply too much the leather could get greasy and have too much of a gloss. I have been told that in our climate a couple of times a year is probably enough.

What are peoples thoughts...

The interior of his car does look and smell amazing. I was just wondering....

there's a line of thought that says leather conditioner actually does more damage to modern leathers than not applying it. Having seen teh evidence, I'm inclined to follow that line.

So whats the difference between that and conditioner ? I read in another thread you you Chemical Guys Leather cleaner / conditioner...

I used to, but having spoke to the person who works for the above company, I switched.

Personally i use Gliptone Liquid leather, easy nice and not much trouble to use. They make a spray too which is quiet good if you are just having a gentle clean, part of regular maintence. Then you dont have to break out the full on leather cleaning lotion and and pour some on to a brush or an MF.
