Insurance renewal time

If you're looking to renew the best site I found was this one :-

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/

Just put in basis data to start with to find the cheapest and then go to the company sites to add on any extras like business use, named drivers etc..

Another good tip is to join Quidco ...

http://www.quidco.com/finance/

You can currently get around £45 - £120 cash back from them just by buying online insurance through their site. There are a lot of insurance companies paying good cashback on this site. I have just received around £160 cash back from my Buildings and Contents insurance through Quidco 169144-ok.gif

I found Swiftcover the cheapest via this route for my ED30 and got £45 cashback through Quidco.

SwiftCover : £382 (-£45 cashback) including Fully Comp + Protected + Legal + Guaranteed Same Size Hire Car + Business Use - 44 years old, Protected No Claims, 2 driver claims in last 3 years, Leeds postcode

Well, I'm 36 have 14 yrs bonus, no claims or points and the wife is the same. I'm struggling to get under £400 which surprises me. What gets me now is that , almost universally, companies are trying to charge extra for courtesy cars and high amounts to protect your bonus.

Looking at your mods I would be happy with £400 grin.gif

The cheapeat quote I got for a remapped ED30 was around £600, with Greenlight, so have put the remap on hold for a while frown.gif.

I found it hard to get a quick online comparison for remapped cars as they don't allow for remaps on the websites - you always have to ring the company up and ask confused.gif

Who was your cheapest company ?

In November Esure wanted £440 for my car. I've got 19yrs NCD(which is scary), have a North West London Postcode + Business & 9000 miles a year. Excess is £250 I think

Another site to try is Confused.com to get a general idea.

Elephant.co.uk allow you to compare remaps on their site. Up to 10% increase & greater than 10% increase, which is the case for most blown engines.

Hope that helps

Adding the girlfriend or wife as a named driver can often reduce it by a huge amount wink.gif Mine dropped by near 20%!!

Some companys i often try don't know who will do mods and who will not though.

Cheapest for me has been Privelage. £390 with a 250 x/s.

I'm just bitter because it seems the older I get (and more bonus I acrue) the premiums seem to be going up.

In 2005 I paid £310 for my 02 Audi S3.

It looks as though this Privelage quote is going to be a hard one to better.

Yep, Privilege were cheapest for me last year (and quite a few people on here I believe). They were pipped by Swiftcover (AXA) this year for me though.

Remember you can get £60 cash back on Privilege Car insurance at Quidco - and I can confirm this really does work, just takes a few months to receive the cash back into your bank account.

Just take out a new policy online rather than renew.

My heart bleeds frown.gifgrin.gif

Not the same car but equally risky (or not) I believe. I'm nearly as old, have full no claims, nil points and have been an IAM member for 16 years.

Just paid £870 so just be thankful at £400!!!!!

Still could be worse, my old Civic Type R with same circumstances would have been close to £1500 EEK2.GIF
