gunner
When my TT was serviced 5000 miles ago, it was filled with Mobil 1 5w30 esp, this is vw 503.01 compliant so is the correct spec for the car which has been re mapped and now produces around 270 bhp. A couple of times I have noticed the oil was low and have purchased a litre of Mobil 1 0w40 thinking it was the right spec. After filling, I have then noticed the spec is 502.00 and 505.00 but not 503.01. The next service is due in 5000 miles, should I just wait until then for an oil change with the correct spec or should I get it changed immediately? There is probably around 1.5 litres of the wrong oil in the sump.
Scotty
Since you're pushing the tolerances closer by it being remapped anyway, I wouldn't take the risk. For the cost of an oil change it doesn't seem worth it.
Kaskat
Get a Pela 6000 oil pump (£35) and suck the oil out from the dip stick tube, take around 10 mins total time, oil is relativly cheap in conparison to buying a new engine. the oil that you have mistakenly put in your engine will be a different viscosity at a certain temperature, my advice would be to change it asap.
