What are the best products for Metallic Black

OK guys please advise what is going to be the best products for my pride and joy when it arrives in April

I will tell you what i have been using on my previous R32 which was red however my new one is Black which i know will be hard to keep.

Meguiars Gold glass car shampoo

Lambswool mitt

Autoglym Resin Polish

Pinnacle Carnuba Wax

Colingnite Protection Wax

Microfibre polishing cloths

Foam applicator pads

Waffer drying towel

Might not be the best stuff in the world but better than a dirty old sponge or a car wash right.

Any advice will be appreciated and those who sell some products if you have any special offers or can put a starters package together for me i would be happy to purchase from you.

I can only think of two products you can use/need really.

Clearkote Vanila Moose and Clearkote Red Machine Glaze (fine by hand). Mix them 50/50 and apply on one step.

Why? They will both make a great base for the Collinite and Pinnacle waxes. RMG increased metalic pop and increases wetness. VM will increase depth, slight abrase your swirl marks and fill them a bit too.

Look also to get some clay and a quick detailer. There are plenty of choices out there, from Mothers, Clearkote, Meguiars etc. And the same for QD's im sure a few people will chip in with there recomendations.

IMO, i would buy a decent quick detailer such as Clearkote QuickShine, or Surf City Garage Hot Rod detailer. You can use these after washing to make your car look like its just been washed. They will also help reduce marring if sprayed while drying.

As for clay, you cant go wrong with yellow Mothers Stuff, the Green Sonus stuff or the Meguiars stuff in the kits. If you buy the clay on its own then check out Poorboys spray and wipe for lubricant, it works well and is £6 per bottle.

Some pretty sound advice from Geoff. I would also recommend some clay and QD - my advice would be Megs Last Touch as it is excellent value for money and is cut 1:1 so its lasts for ages. You could use Sonus Green as a clay and use the Last Touch as a lube.

The clearkote combo is good.

You could also look at adding a stage of Glaze after the AG Super Resin Polish, say Megs No. 7, then top up with wax. This time of year Collinite is your best bet however if you can get out to wax more frequently then I would recommend Victoria Concours or maybe a Dodo Juice (Purple Haze or Blue Velvet spring to mind for your colour). Chemical Guys 50/50 is also another good one.

You could also try layering, i.e. Collinite first for a durable layer then add a layer or two of Victoria Concours on top (just leave enough time for them to cure between layers).

From a former black car owner there is a lot of good advice on here, however don't discount the slightly quicker method especially if you have some swirl marks in applying (after claying of course) Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine. Supposedly specifically for dark coloured cars, produces less residue chalk than SRP, produces and brilliant shine / finish, will fill in some swilrs and then add AG EGP on top before applying your wax.
