Muppetboy
My Xbox 360 keeps freezing, it's just over a year old. Only way I can get it working is to switch off the console, it's unplayable.

simon737
Hey, I had this problem just before xmas, Microsoft were really good about it, I bought my Xbox when they first came out so the 1 year warranty was up, and i thought i'd be shelling out for repairs or even a new one! When I called they said that the 3 rings of doom has been a problem for a while and is a hardware issue, the have increased the warranty for 3 years if this happens, so give them a ring, they'll confirm the problem, send you a UPS shipping label, stick it in a box and arrange the pick up and within about 2 - 3 weeks maybe less (mine was less and this was over xmas) you'll have it back with a new and improved motherboard....which is significanlty quieter than the original! Happy Days!!!
Muppetboy
I've called them and they were really helpful, they've already emailed me UPS labels and I just need to send it back to them now. Had they not offered assistance though I would have just bought a PS3 instead and dumped the Xbox because it sounds like an unacceptable amount of consoles have broken. Muppetboy
Is there a way to track status of where my console is? I sent it back 10 days ago now and not further advice or acknowledgement.
copster
i just got mine back yesterday took about 9 days to turn it around If you want to track where it is give xbox a ring and they will check out the repair status. They provided me with a UPS tracking number so I could see when my console was returned. Or visit xbox.com/support and attempt to track it online - it didn't work for me! Muppetboy
Thanks, but it needs the serial number - which is on the back of the console, which is with Microsoft
Dave
Apparantly the problem was with the solders.. when they got hot they started to crack and the connection goes down.

My serial number was on there Otherwise if xboc gave you a ref no when you phoned up just quote it to them and they'll give you the status
simon737
Hi, If you've registered your Xbox, then just type in your windows live ID on the xbox360 support bit (where it says reapirs etc) and it should come up on there. If not then not sure, you could give em a ring an see if they can trace it for you.

Muppetboy
Call MS, they will email you some UPS stickers, stick the xbox in a box and get UPS to collect. After around 10 days they will deliver it back to you, although feck knows if this will stop it freezing as mine has done it once already!

NOBLEDRIVER
I thought this problem was caused by Forsa, but if its other games too, I don't think much of their testing dept!
