avantissimo
I'm interested in replacing the rear diffuser on my C6 2008 A6 Le Mans quattro Avant. The audi accessory brochure shows a replacement diffuser that looks good, but is shown on a A6 saloon. The part number is 4F0 071 611 9AX Does anyone know if this will fit the Avant rear bumper? I guess it should do but its worth checking. Finally, are these easy to fit or does it require the whole bumper to come off and a visit to the steeler? Thanks. DNay
Like this one? £99 audi price £210. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-A6-Avant-genu...7QQcmdZViewItem Oh and yes the diffusers are different for the saloon and the Avant. Different part nos. At least that was what I was told when I bought one for my saloon last year.
avantissimo
Hi, yes exactly that one! In fact, I've been in touch with the dealer who is selling it. Did you fit yours yourself or did you get the dealer to do it? Do you know if the whole bumper has to come off or if the diffuser can be removed without the bumper? If I can do it myself then I will get the dealer to paint it and I'll fit it myself if its not too complicated. Thanks for any info you have. DNay
I took it to a local paint sprayer for painting but fitted it myself. From memory there are three (or is it four?) bolts holding the bottom edge of your existing diffuser. These need removing (obviously! ) The diffuser is then held in place by a series of interference fit tags which are fitted into cuts in the the bumper skin. There is no need to remove the bumper skin, but it does need quite a tug to get the diffuser to part company with the bumper skin. Fitting the new diffuser requires the diffuser tags to be pushed through the cuts in the bumper skin. Once this is done just replace and tighten the retaining bolts and your all done. Are you going to get the front spoiler as well? I see the dealer has one of these also. I got one the same time I got the rear one but left it to the bodyshop to fit, as in addition to a couple of bolts, the front spoiler needs bonding to the bumper skin. Something I didnt think I had the necessary skills to achieve.
avantissimo
Hi, as mine is an S-Line derivative being the Le Mans edition the front spolier design is different and the front Votex won't fit. I'm not too bothered about this as I quite like the front design, but the rear is a little basic. I actually bought it today, and have a quote for painting. Thanks for the tip on fitting. I will do it myself once its been painted. Many thanks, that was a big help!
