Rustynuts
Okay, I've just about had enough now. Virtually every time I search for something on Google I get page after page of Ebay links. Is there any way of telling Google to ignore Ebay when searching? drpellypo
Just use -site:ebay.com after your keyword
Rustynuts
Yeah, I've been doing that, but it's a chew doing it every time. I was hoping for a setting in their system somewhere so I could add "unwanted sites" to a blacklist (Facebook, Bebo etc.) as I come across them, and eventually I might end up with a search engine which actually looks for what I bloodywell want, not a list of crap. drpellypo
Don't google have some kind of affiliation with ebay? i doubt very much they'd make a switch to turn it off on their search results! Google = quantity not quality.

Rustynuts
I've been trying Yahoo, and it's not bad. I just need to work at it I suppose, as I'm used to the Google layout.
paulrstaylor
Just as a quick thought, if you use IE7 you can define a custom search provider. When you do a test search for the word TEST add in the relevant options, i.e. -site:ebay.com -stie:ebay.co.uk, you will get a search string like the following <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre> http://www.google.co.uk/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=TEST+-site%3Aebay.com+-site%3Aebay.co.uk&btnG=Google+Search&meta= </pre><hr /> Then when you search from the menu bar it will add those options in again automatically, add as many as you like! Hope my description makes sense, not ideal but it works and will let you do what you want to do! Paul
Rustynuts
Sounds good, but I use Firefox and Opera.
