Alastair_A3
When my bm was delivered think it had about 5 miles on the clock
edo
Dont assume because it is a new car it will be perfect. Loads get damaged in transit and repaired. Check all panel gaps Check for paint overspray on lights, wheels, trim. Check drivers doors are lined up - does the trim line up with the trim eitherside of the door? (This is a Golf weakness). Check for damage on the alloys. Just dont let the new experience stop you checking round the car, and dont be rushed - take your time - and dont hand over the money until you are 100% satisfied. It is A LOT easier to get things resolved BEFORE you have paid, than AFTER!! Good luck, and I'm sure it will be fine!
edo
Ps - anything over 10-20 miles I would not be impressed!
DaddyDub
VW say that anything up to 100 delivery miles is "acceptable".
patently
Acceptable to them maybe. Wouldn't be acceptable to me.
Maxyboy
The mileage can be reset upto three times on a new car i'm sure. so you'l prob never know how many miles its done.

Muppetboy
I'm sure I read in here somewhere that dealers can reset the clock once anyway...
962C
[ QUOTE ] ps if the car has more than 20 miles on it i will not accept the car [/ QUOTE ] Daft. The mileage can be reset as long as it below 100 miles, hence if it showing 1 mile, it has been reset anyway. 20 would be good - less likely to have done 100 miles before being reset.
