willboy12 Posted April 4, 2008 Report Share Posted April 4, 2008 Hi guys just fitted a new camshaft sensors and the car will not start not even try just keeps turning over. put the old one back on the car starts but as it starts its like the timeing is out as it turns over then fires up. any ideas what this can be bmw 1996 728i regards paul Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A camshaft sensor failed after 3 years - symptoms were that the engine just stopped, including once on the M40 at :cough: mph in the outside lane It seems that if the EMS can't get a signal it recognises from the sensors then it assumes the engine has a serious problem and cuts the ignition.
