hi guys ,

after being a bimmer fan for 15years decided to take the plunge and get a 2006 rs4 ib black getting delivered on tuesday.cant wait!!!!!!!!!is there anything i should as the dealer to do apart from the obvoius bodywork,tyres.service etc.Does the cars need any software upgrades or anything like that?Any help will be truly appreciated.

Firstly, welcome.

Without dissing Tyresmoke, for specific advice & questions on the B7 RS4, you may want to check out www.rs246.com as it's more dedicated to the Marque.

Tyresmoke is more general as it covers many mfctrs.

Like you, i came from an E60 M5 to the B7 RS4 & day to day i prefer the RS as it's smaller, tighter, lighter & far more dynamic on track & in the twisties.

I like the double click central locking - 90% of the time there's only me in the car and I don't want all the doors being unlocked for just me to get in, it's an unnecessary risk.

BTW the RS4 has an RNS-E not MMI - yes I know it says MMI when you turn it on but it doesn't use MMI DVDs, none of the MMI accessories work with it and it's a "one box" system where the MMI is a multi-box system connected using fibre optics.
