Chav
hiya, ok i guess this applies to B8 a4 and a5.... how do you get rid of the cd changer in the dash? at some point i'll have to swap to a new cab... and I really HATE the cd changer in the middle of the dash B8 A4/Q7/A5 etc. Is it a standard DIN size? is there any accessory that'll go in there etc...? Want sat nav in the MMI etc, but surely no-one uses CDs anymore?
Chav
just to emphasise.... i think the cd changer in the dash looks naff with a capital N. kinda retro in an uncool way. Like having a CRT TV in your lounge.
Booster
It is crap isn't it??? I'm going to be ordering one soon and the cd palyer and the quality of the switchgear are the two things that let the car down IMO.
craigyb
You can't get rid of it unless you blank it out and it will have to be installed elsewhere. The CD changer is used for MMI updates.
Merlot
The buttons around the MMI controller feel really cheap too. Put me off the A5/S5 a bit. Willl still get excited when the Cab comes out though.

Willl still get excited when the Cab comes out though. Yes me too. But the cd changer is going to do my head in. I may end up being one of those mad bastards that rips their new 40K car apart straight away....maybe try and put cd changer in glove compartment, and think of something prettier to go in the newly created hole in the dash. A cappuccino maker would be nice.... fresh coffee on tap for sipping in the traffic jams, whilst tanning in the sun. hmm.
