There is a bloke near me who has a MK2 GTi in the worthers original red colour, it looks stunning, despite the fact it's rotting on his driveway having not moved for years.

I dont know if it's an original colour for a mk2 but I doubt it, does look great though.

I saw a white MKVI 2.0 TDI today, which gave me a hint of what the GTI would look like, as I still haven't seen one in the flesh. It looked pretty nice with it's contrasting tints. The front end is growing on me, but as MB says, the back end ain't pretty. The photoshopped R20 that AutoCar created looked superb, so IMO, that's what the MKVI needs - it should have been more hardcore and sporty. Still waiting for my test drive appointment, VW.

Right, I've seen, felt and touched and driven a red (not my choice) Mk6 GTI with ACC today. More this weekend.

Very, very good car and the interior is a mile ahead of the Mk5. Pretty much the same look and feel, but the quality is more that of the Audi A4 in terms of the plastics +++

That's interesting to hear. Would love to know how the ACC shapes up under some spirited driving.

I think your right. Its a shame as i have always liked candy apple type reds, i had hoped it was listed as an option in Germany but i could not find it, shame.

We had an Ibiza GTI16V in a metallic red i spend far longer and much more often cleaning and looking at it than any other car we have owned simply due to the colour.
