fulcrum111
Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me if multifunction steering wheel part number 4F0419091AH 1KT or 4F0 419 091 AH (originally meant for Audi A6, A8 & Q7) can be installed on an A4 B6. VIN number is WAUZZZ8E14A032261? Also any info on what additional parts may be required, such as steering wheel control module etc? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. shark_90
You will need a steering wheel control module, a compatible slip ring, a custom modified airbag harness and a large portion of hope that the dual stage airbag will go off in the event of an accident as you have a single stage airbag controller in the B6. I did it on mine but put it back to standard before I sold the car.
fulcrum111
Thanks Shark, Here's a long shot but I'll chance it. Any chance you still have the parts you took out of your A4 before selling it? If yes, would you be interested in selling?
shark_90
Verrrry long shot as I sold the car 2 years ago I might have a steering wheel control module here but I don't have the other parts. I might actually have the modified airbag harness which worked for me but I won't be held responsible for any problems that arise from it, like airbags not going off and death etc.
fulcrum111
Thats fair enough Shark, I wouldn't hold you responsible! There you go, you have public written statement from me now! As I intend fitting cruise and DIS, do you know if the control module required for DIS & cruise is also suitable for the MFSW? Cheers! shark_90
Yes, they go up in order of capability. So the MFSW unit is cruise and DIS capable.
fulcrum111
Hey Shark, just PM'd you!
PetrolDave
You'll need to solve the dual stage vs single stage airbag problem. The B6 has a single stage airbag controller, but the wheel you mention has a dual stage airbag.
fulcrum111
Hi All, I've got my A4 B7 MFSW, now I understand I need an A4 B7 slip ring PN 4E0953541B. Anyone know where I can purchase one as the stealers are pretty expensive at £145 + VAT! Or has anyone got one for sale! Or can someone tell me I don't need it at all! Will the slip ring in my A4 B6 do the job? Cheers for any and all assistance+++
shark_90
You need a B6 slip ring mate, that airbag harness has a B6 connector on it. Yours isn't suitable because it only has 6 pins, you need a 12 pin one.
fulcrum111
Cheers Shark, Don't suppose you have any idea of the PN of the A4 B6 slip ring I need? Here's hoping!
shark_90
I'm afraid not, but it will probably be the same as your current slip ring with a "B" at the end
