They used to work first time you washed the windscreen (when lights are on) and every 5th time thereafter. I think they packed up some time arround the cold weather snap we had a few weeks back - so wondering if it could be ice related damage although I do use screen wash. Washer bottle is full and winscreen washers are working fine. Can anyone tell me how they work and what i should be checking? PND Posted March 12, 2009 Report Share Posted March 12, 2009 Hi Yeah, it's probably just a fuse. Have a look in the main fuse area at the right hand end of the dash. From memory, I think it's number '36' which should be a yellow 20Amp fuse. Probably just blown.. Should only cost a matter of pence and job sorted - hopefully! Even more reason to avoid like the plaque (especially for Obessesional Compulsive Detailers ) I once accidentally flicked the indicator stalk back after having spent about 4 hours detailing my car one sunny afternoon - headlights anbd windscreen got a blast of washer fluid. windym_iller Posted March 16, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 PND thanks for the suggestion, fuse makes sense especially if the pump had frozen solid in the cold weather. I had a look at the fuses yesterday and I don't even have a fuse number 32 either in the internal fuse board or in the engine bay. The manual does say that fuse allocations may differ. I didn't really want to just start pulling fuses at random in case i triggered error codes so i might pop into the dealers to see if they can tell me which one I should be looking for.
