steelwind101
There are few places hotter to put your hand and test a wax or sealant then the bonnet of a black car on a hot day! I know some Audis do offer heat reflective paintwork, i dont know if this in the UK though. What you need to get is a couple of wash buckets, one for rinse water to wash your wash mitt and one for shampoo mix. If you want the best products and probably the best value for money your best off buying everything online and doing it one go, if possible from one online shop! As for products, there a hundred product that will look great on black! Here is a few that i would choose: Woflgang Prewax Cleanser and Wolfgang Sealant 3.0 Finish Kare 1000P, with Autoglym Super Resin Polish applied before it. Prehapes a good kit for you would be this Werkstat Acrylic Kit - Werkstat Car Care and Detailing Products Its pretty easy to use, durable and lasts a long time. Is an easy to use version (updated) of the famous Klasses twins. Any of the shampoos they sell, Werkstatt, Poorboys, Meguiars Shampoo plus would be good choice for a safe wash! psyho
I decided that I will use AG cosmetics including their new HD Wax (150ml cost 30 pounds!!!!) but... there is so huge selection of all these AG shampoos, gloss protectors, shine protectors etc and wax and water and others.... What is order when use them? I understood that HD wax is as a last stage isnt ? Ta. Edited March 23, 2009 by psyho

The Super Resin Polish (SRP) is a paint cleanser for all intent and purpose, which has a mild abrasive and filling qualities, thus being able to successfully mask faint imperfections. Extra Gloss Protection (EGP) contains hard resins and waxes and contains no cleaning or polishing agents. Use after SRP as you would the HD wax. Paint Renovator, contains harsher abrasives to remove scratches and should only be used as such. Ultra Deep Shine (UDS) is similar to EGP, but best on darker colours. It also reduces and removes hologramming, as well as filling and masking minor scratches. HTH as a brief intro
steelwind101
Jon pretty much has that covered. You asked about the shampoos, if possible try and get a Meguiars one. They offer more lubrication the Autoglym one (green fluid). You can get Shampoo Plus for around the same cost so its good idea to get that. HD Wax or Ultra Deep Shine Is that correct guys Thanks guys
steelwind101
1.wash with shampoo, *2.super Resin Polish OR Ultra Deep Shine* 3.Extra Gloss Protection 4. HD Wax You need to wait 12 hrs between step 3 and 4. To behonest, as posted in another thread if your going to use a durable wax like HD Wax, just forget the Extra Gloss Protection. It wont do anything looks wise and i hear HD wax lasts about 3 months so i doubt EGP would be in any worth while state after that either.
JonC
I reserve the use EGP to my alloys - works wonders. Also, I'm told that USD is a one stage application which nothing bonds to well, so am advised to avoid it. Any views to the contrary?
psyho
Thank you very much. It seems that it is few hours of cleaning but I love it. I will place some picture but not now as all this cleaning will take place on 22nd of April in my cottage in Czech Republic. Kind Regards M. I heard that EGP doesn't bond to it but i'd imagine most other waxes would. I found UDS poor for durability. 4 weeks in the Summer and there was no trace remaining. Not sure if it is a product you can layer though.
steelwind101
Hi UDS and SRP are suppose to be similar. The Autoglym site does say you can top UDS with EGP but they recommend using SRP instead. Geoff
