shark_90
Bought this yesterday from Argos, £55. Very, very impressed with it. It works over DECT like a cordless phone and it is astonishingly clear. If you listen close enough you can even hear baby breathing! Shows the temperature in the room on the remote handset's display, it has talkback, a visual indicator, vibrating alert (not sure how that works yet) and there are a few remote controllable features such as the nightlight, and you can play the built in lullabys (is that "ies"?) from the parent handset via remote control. You can also plug in any 3.5mm jack and play music through it.. so whether it's soothing music, a CD, audiobooks, mp3 players etc they just plug straight in. Very impressed, and thought it was worth a mention at that price
Booster
We have exactly the same one and yep, it is really good. When our daughter was still in our room you could hear my alarm clock ticking on it and it was on the other side of the room to the monitor. This is a really good gadget as well: Nircom Babysense ll Movement/Sound Monitor: Amazon.co.uk: Baby
cruiser647
I'd never sleep with one of them around. Very light sleeper when it comes to sounds from our kiddies. I always wake first when the kiddies have been crying. Even them coughing wakes me up - and they are in a different room! Never had a baby monitor as a result. shark_90
Well baby's in our room anyway.. but it's for if we leave him in the bedroom upstairs and watch TV downstairs etc, and it also means that we can be doing jobs around the house with him in the cot and not have to keep checking on him every 5 minutes! Baby monitors are great. Our monitor has amazing range. We can be in the pub 10mins walk away and still get reception. Feckin fantastic

Sponge
We have the same monitor and also have one of these. They're both very good, but obviously the 150 is the more modern unit, with some better features, like better quality songs, plus the aforementioned MP3 player jack. We only have one gripe about the 150. You turn the units on and you think you've established a link. Indeed, the lights are flashing when sound is detected, but no sound comes out of the speaker. You obviously can't spend all your time just watching the monitor, you rely on it alerting you audibly. But if the link hasn't been established correctly, you don't get that sound. Sometimes you can't hear anything, but notice out the corner of your eye that the LEDs are flashing. You have to reboot the monitor and then you're confronted with a screaming child! You may never experience this problem, but it's worth keeping in mind.
MattS3
Agreed, they are good, my only gripe is the battery life. The listening unit only ever seems to hold a charge for around 4 hours, then its back into the charger for more power.
Sponge
Yeah. I remember it being good to start with. I remember them quoting 10hrs. Never got that much, but definitely over 6hrs. Now we get less than 4hrs out of the older BT monitor, but more from the 150. I think it's just a battery issue though. They don't have a very high rating and don't last forever. Easy enough to replace though.

hotdog
That's the McCann 'Tapas5' model isn't it ? Thats the one! Ours was the deluxe version that came with a working door lock. They obviously didn't think the extra expense was worth it so didn't bother locking the door. Still, whats to lose eh?
