RobK Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 I need to get a new car for when our new baby arrives in June, and I'm leaning towards a Passat estate. The only thing is I'm a bit bewildered by the number of variants and I'm not sure which to look at. I prefer the looks of the mark 6 but I don't really want to spend over £10k so I don't know if I'd be able to get a decent one for that. What are the best engines and specs to go for? However, if you sit in the new one, you'll propbably want one. They are as far apart interioir wise as exterior! Plenty under £10K here. jonnyjambo Posted March 30, 2009 Report Share Posted March 30, 2009 The TDI engines are superb! economical and plenty quick enough, especially when you're carrying around the family. Don't be put of by the older shape, if you thats all your budget will allow its still an excellent option. Happy hunting, they are hard to come by unless you want to pay loads for one.
