jonnyjambo
Hi people I'm new to this site and after some help from fellow Passat owners, please. The rubber gasket around the base of my aerial is perished and requires replacing. To do this I believe I can lower the rear section of the headlining to get to the aerial. So can anyone please tell me how to lower or remove the headlining to get to the aerial? cheers Edited March 29, 2009 by jonnyjambo

rmv
would have thought someone or agent VW would know this to assist you? Seems reasonable question as most of the querys on this site are...good luck anyway
Totally Loaded
I,ve only done this on a saloon. You need to remove the top part of the B pillar trim and the C pillar trim cappings and seals around the top of the rear doors. The edge of the headliner is tucked into the top of the rear screen so i had to make up a flat curved hook to refit it. The aerial base has a flying lead with either one , two or three connections depending on whether you have a telephone, GPS or normal radio. Makes sure you have clean hands and be careful no to crease the headliner when working with it.
