So I scanned :

P0332 Knock sensor 2 circuit bank 1-G66: low

P1355 Cylinder 1,ignition circuit open

P0301 Cylinder 1 isfire detected

P0100 Air massmeter -G70 supply voltage

P1602 Power supply (B+) terminal 30: Low voltage

P0601 Internal control module memory: checksum error

What's is really at fault here ?? :ffs::ffs:

Help ....some advise pls

First step is to delete those faults and see which ones come back - some could be intermittent ones caused by you disconnecting the battery.

Are those all on the engine ECU at address #1?

The two problems on cylinder 1 suggests a possible coilpack problem - which might also cause the knock sensor fault.

The P0601 would be worrying if it's on the engine ECU...

Thanks for your reply "Petrol Dave".+++

I'll try and get a decent scanner.

Is vagcom in this day in time really the only one which could erase and scan the DTC an a Audi/VW.

I found for instance: Autel.us - AutoLink OBDII / OBD Code Reader - Complete diagnostic scanner for automotive engine light

Equus 3110 Innova Diagnostic Code Scanner

Actron and so on

If I had a pound for every time that someone had asked me "isn't there something cheaper than VAG-COM that works as well" then I'd be a bl..dy millionaire (slight exaggeration!).

Other cheaper leads/devices will work some of the time with some modules, but if you're a VAG enthusiast and you want something will work every time on every module then VAG-COM is the only answer.

  • 3 weeks later...

Petrol Dave , I,ve the vagcom and scanned the car :

1 Fault Found:

001537 - Internal Control Module: Memory Check Sum Error

P0601 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - MIL ON

Freeze Frame:

Fault Status: 11100001

Fault Priority: 0

Fault Frequency: 1

Mileage: 21583 km

Time Indication: 0

Date: 2009.04.07

Time: 23:21:23

Now I've tried to erase this but to no avail.

The EPC and the MIL light are both on but the car drives OK.

What can I do to fix this
