Tricky1
bought a 2003 a4 avant qs very pleased with it...except....when i play one of my louder cds on full blast for a while (20mins or so), the stereo turns itself down for about 30 secs! unbelievable! its like my mum shouting at me 30 years ago to turn my skids records down! its a chorus stereo...there's a tape and a six cd changer. any thoughts? its a tad annoying. apart from that, am loving the audi...just passed 100k.... all advice appreciated
shark_90
The stereo is probably overheating. I presume you don't have Bose?
Tricky1
thanks for the reply, shark. no, no bose...just the standard chorus equipment. can it reallly turn itself down due to overheating?! it happens even when its only been on for half an hour or so... it really is like health and safety censorship to protect my eardrums! what can be done??? Cupramax
They've usually got a thermistor in them on the output stages which cuts totally on overheat, not seen one that turns itself down before!! 20 mins on full pelt is probably cooking it though. Brabus
It's probably Clarkson/Hammond messing around with your remote control.
G60jet
Are you sure its not doing it when you slow down?
