dpm_dpmartin
I was just browsing through the A4 brochure, which obviously shows all left-hand drive vehicles, and had a quick scan on the Internet, but couldn't find out for sure... whether the MMI controls are mirrored for the UK. In the A4 brochure, the electromechanical handbrake and the Start button are nearest the driver... is that true of UK cars too, or have Audi used a single piece of equipment for both left-hand drive and right-hand drive cars, i.e. so in the UK, you'd be putting your hand over the gearstick to reach the Start button and handbrake? Does anyone have one and can confirm for me? This is not necessarily a bad thing, as your hand doesn't have to go over the gearstick for the volume dial, but I expect that the volume dial is not touched much, with everyone having the MFSW in place. Cupramax
Only the electronic handbrake switches sides, the rest is the same....
Scotty
These are shots of UK cars with and without SatNav :
dpm_dpmartin
Wow, that whole area looks really bare (without use) if you don't have sat. nav.. So the Start button will be somewhere near where that grille is, I guess. Cheers, DpM
Scotty
Yep it's in the symetrical postion to the volume button. There were quite a few reasons why I added sat nav to my order. One of these was simply the aesthetics. Another was the ergonomics of having the MMI controller to hand. There were loads of others but the above two certainly played their part.
