Jimbob_S3
Hi All, Bought a 53 plate S4 a couple of Months ago. Its got the factory fitted Sat Nav RNS-D. I've noticed the stereos pretty poor in sound quality and supposed to be BOSE but doesn't seem anywhere near as good as the old S3. After listening to the big parcel shelf speaker this is really quiet - even when you put the fader to the back of the car. Also - where is the sub located is this the black plastic box behind the panel in the left of the boot because if it is there its not making any noise - just hissing!! Help - I'm confused! no_idea
If it is an avant then yes the sub is in the boot on the right behind the removable panel, not sure on a saloon. Guess you have a saloon, just re-read your post Edited August 5, 2009 by no_idea try reading posts fully before replying
Jimbob_S3
No its a saloon - can anyone else help !?
Mook
Same place. If it's hissing, it sounds (sic) like there's a problem! The Bose system feeds info into VAG COM if you plug it in, so it should tell you what's wrong if you run a full diagnostic
Jimbob_S3
Connected to VagCom - can read the Radio and SatNav - but can't connect to "47 - Sound system".... no fault codes found on anything else. The black plastic box in my boot is in the passenger side, it has a fan on it that runs when the cars unlocked and runs for a bit when the ignition goes off, is that the amp ? The bass from that rear parcel shelf speaker just seems really poor - or are they all weak ?
