Busby
I have been looking at these recently and like the look of the Karcher K5.55m and K6.89m - they don't seem to have great online reviews though with scores of people complaining about weak parts that constantly need replacing. Has anybody got any real world experience of these or is anyone able to recommend any others?
Dave
I was the same and everywhere i looked all i could find was people who paid a lot of money for Karcher and were pissed off.. so I went with a Bosch Aquatak 160 Pro from here : Bosch AQUATAK 160 Pro X Pressure Washer 30 - 155 Bar 2800w 240v : Tooled-Up.com Awesome piece of kit and chuffed to bits with it. Busby
Nice one Dave Can you adjust the pressure that the water comes out at and how is the handle for winding the hose back in? That winder breaking (along with the lance trigger) seemed to be the most common complaint about the Karcher. Can you get sno foam lances that fit these too? Tarmac_Terrorist
You can get foam lances with connections to fit most PW's: Snow Foam Lance - for use with your pressure washer - various fitting available IIRC if you put TSN in the coupon code box you get some forum discount too. So far so good with the handle and winder.. all good quality! Yes, i use a foam lance, but if you decide to buy the 160X like i did then it won't take the standard bosch fit, you'll need to order the brass screw in type. I use the lance to foam the car as the pressure is reduced. On the lance you have a high pressure and low pressure setting.
Busby
Thanks both. Is it this type of connection Dave......? I can see a purchase on the horizon followed by an explanation as to why I have spent £400+ on something to clean the car with
Dave
No, that is for the standard bosch fittings.. for the 160x (only!) you need the Kransel one.

maersk
Been using a Karcher 550M for 5 years, 2 to 3 times a week.....................no real probs. The biggest problem is caused y leaving cleaning chemicals in the machine. i.e. not rinsing out as recommended.
