mb
Same for my R32 as well - does no-one break down anymore ?
Mook
No, it's just the designers - form over function etc. but also because maybe with AWD, VW and Audi reckon you shouldn't need to be towed backwards out of a ditch
mb
But why should I have to tow others out using reverse ?
PetrolDave
But why should I have to tow others out using reverse ? The towing eye is not intended for you to tow - it's only meant to be used for recovering a broken down car for a limited distance at low speeds. So it's not designed to handle the loads of towing. If you want to tow something then you MUST fit a proper towbar ... but the RS4 is NOT Type Approved to have a towbar fitted (apparently Audi think there is insufficient engine cooling for towing).
