What happened to your football career....injury...did`t quite make the grade(no disrespect intended)....when I was younger a couple of my friends were really good players but the standard was so high they never managed to get signed by a big club....One friend managed to sustain a career in the lower leagues.....he played for Tranmere Rovers for a number of years...this was in the 1980`s. When I was at University.....I played for the Manchester University team....we were in the same league as the Manchester Utd youth team....fook me they were good...even though they were all 16 and 17yrs old.....On one occasion Norman Whiteside(who you may remember...he was a 1st team player) took to the field. He was recovering from an injury and I suppose they were slowly bringing him back upto match fitness......Injured or not he was a real physical presence on the field.....I can still remember him taking a shot on the half-volley; about 25yards out and the ball just flew past me...barely saw it....and I`am sure it would have knocked me out if it had hit me:o....It just made you realise the top players are literally in a completely different leaque. Anyway....Did you manage to bag any page 3 totty or ex Big Brother babes..lol+++ Edited May 10, 2010 by Mr Man
j50sho
good times , thaks for the info intresting too cut long story short i got a injury which put me out of football for 2years, missing that amount of football i needed time to get back to the player i was.. and the clubs wouldnt wait soo.. i played and train hard for a year and move from aston villa to sunderland where i was told i would be getting a pro... when the meeting came up i was told there were too many players not getting into the first team and they couldnt sign anymore... so it came to the age where do i carry on or go dwn a level, bring my education in and go from there. im still good enough to playing top football, i have no doubt.. i have good friends on 50k plus a week, i mean porsche gt3's for first cars an all... im gonna get my degree and feck off sumwhere hot where i can play football again. ive played at many places, old trafford, stamford bridge the lot.. trained and played against ole and man utd, played against joe cole at stamford bridge aswel. football is an amazing game, but the older you get u relise there is more to life. I know this thread is moving off topic..... I`am glad you`v been able to move on....You must have felt gutted at the time...but I suppose injury`s come with the territory and are part and parcel of the game....At least you gave it your best shot and it`s still something of an achievement to have played with top class players at many of the countries finest stadiums. A friend of my Dental nurse married Djibril Cisse when he was at Liverpool....Was he at Sunderland when you were there?....Every time she met him he was always grumpy..Lol...I think he never quite hit it off with Rafael Benitez while he was at Liverpool so he was always moaning about something when she turned up at their house....That said, he still donated signed Shirts and footballs for her to raffle at the school Fair.....I have to say he had a few really chaved up motors...He was certainly into his bling..Lol.....Considering how classy the decor of his house was it never ceased to amaze why he bought such naff motors. Yes, what sort experment or accident was behind that footballers idea to paint his wheels pink on various cars?! Back to your original question, if you want something cool and quick with modification options why not C30 Twilight style. The T5 should keep you happy for a while! Mate, You have me intrigued now! I bought my last BMW 330cd from a lad that was playing in Sunderland's youth team. He had the car advertised at £23k - After I saw his house, I offered to £19k and he just accepted it! He did take allot of pleasure in telling me he was on £5k a week and that the £4k drop was nothing. I love football - but I can see why allot of footballers are hated. It's a shame - because they work their balls off to be able to play at the top level.
j50sho
hehe vert-conVERTible and ye footballers love cars that are different, abit out there.. my friend gt a lambo lp for his 18th birthday as a present to himself, can u see why im kicking myself so much.. ino still im a better player then him, i just dont train everyday for 3hours anymore like i used to. football is an amazing sport, but there are alot of players that shouldnt be playing at that level, and 90% of it is luck and opinions.
