trsisko
I drove my audi a3 above 60 mph today and it seemed to fail to get any higher despite my foot hitting the accelerator! My car also appears to slip a lot more at the higher speeds? Anyone have any ideas?
PetrolDave
I drove my audi a3 above 60 mph today and it seemed to fail to get any higher despite my foot hitting the accelerator! My car also appears to slip a lot more at the higher speeds? Anyone have any ideas? Is the check engine light on? Any fault codes stored? What do you mean by "my car also appears to slip" - do you mean the clutch?
trsisko
It appears to be the performance at high speeds, doesnt seem as powerful? I've been driving it for a while and the same problem hasnt occured and no error lights are on. So i guess I should just monitor it.
trsisko
Ok, same problem again today. I'm on the motorway and it doesn't move past 60 mph in 6th gear! Anyone have any ideas as this is getting dangerous!
Cockney Boy
It could be an engine managment problem, or your N75 valve is not working properly. The only way to find out the problem is with a scan to see what fault codes you have. Also check your air hose to see if there are any holes. Ok, same problem again today. PetrolDave
I see you've also posted that your oil warning light came on - I wonder if the loss of power is related? A VAG-COM scan is really the best way forward.
trsisko
It was the top up oil light around a month ago, which i prompty did. I've got it booked into be looked at and will keep you posted.
trsisko
The dealer is looking at this and has shipped the car to an audi garage, they now reckon that the ECU is dead! Please can anyone tell me if this is a major issue or is possibly the problem?
PetrolDave
they now reckon that the ECU is dead! If the ECU was dead your car wouldn't even run - so it's not dead. Usually things like this are a sensor fault, it's very, very, very rare for it to be a faulty (let alone dead) ECU. ECU's cost a lot, so that's a very good thing! JezzaL
Ive had the same issue and have just checked all the pipes. i found a small hole in the pressure hose. Going to replace this, fingers crossed. The part is 1JO 145 838B, if you want to check yours.
trsisko
Looks like it was the Turbo and the turbo gasket, as i'd had the car for less than 6 months they have done this underwarranty! I will need to do a test drive to ensure its ok, when i get it back. Not sure how much that would have cost me.
trsisko
Looks like it was the turbo. Audi replaced this under warranty.
