[Audi A3/S3] Audi A3 3.2 DSG - juddering around 2k revs

Hi lads - noticed a little problem with the a3 last week or so.

The car seems to accellerate fine above 2k revs, but below that it seems to misfire abit or judder (does it more in automatic mode, but in manual not so much)

I have found that the fuel return is the same and that it can cruise at 60 - 80 - 100 with no juddering.

The car has a colourful past, a year ago the previous engine dropped a valve and I had to lob out for a new engine, followed by 2 coils going in the space of 6 months, and now this.

If this is something big I am not chucking big money at this car any more , I will simply sell it as it is and buy a Golf TDI...

Does anyone have any idea of what it could be please ?

it is going in for a service in 2 weeks, so it may be good gong into it with some possablities

cheers

DB

If you have warrenty then the dealers will have your car for a few days and it will be free. If you dont then it could get pricey. Best get it to the stealers quick to have it diagnosed. Mechtronics seem to be going faulty left right and centre at the moment.

Have you noticed it more in certain gears and does it kangaro a wee bit. Off the top of my head i think 1st and reverse gears are the first to show signs of problems.

Hello, no warranty.

Its getting diagnosed next Monday, I have noticed it more in the revs around the 2k mark, there is no gear that it starts at - + it deffo does not do it much (if any) when I flick it into manual.

Reverse is fine no juddering - 1st is fine as well

Fingers crossed that its nothing too pricey. Keep us informed and good luck.

Okay I have an update - my mechanic discovered that one of the coils was "sitting up" abit so was causing the problem (probally the shoddy garage I took it to before didnt put it in right), just a simple push down and the car runs 100%. Bout time I had some luck with this machine.

many thanks all for your help
