Andy_Bangle
Its lines are tighter, its bite is more potent and it's heading to your local BMW dealership later this year. Under the hood of the 650i sits the same 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 which produces 400 horsepower between 5,500 rpm and 6,400 rpm, and a stout 450 pound-feet of torque from 1,750 rpm up through 4,500 rpm. That power is managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can be controlled manually via a pair of paddle-shifters. Should you prefer to row your own gears in the more traditional manner, a six-speed manual gearbox will also be offered. The engine and both transmission options help propel the car from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4.8 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph. In the cabin, the 2012 6 Series Coupe is filled with BMW's latest gadgetry. A 10.2-inch high-definition screen serves as the nexus of visual information. This modern Sixer boasts available Lane Departure Warning, Active Blind Spot detection, Rear and Top View Cameras, a Parking Assistant and a three-dimensional heads-up display. Golfer
Went to the Launch yesterday, not impressed, nothing to report but stupid prices. 650i M Sport reported as costing £82K................ just who are BMW kidding. Car looks no better than the old one, navigation screen supposed to be HD, it's no different to mine. I row of kiddy LED's along the front apron, 75mm extra rear seat space ( sat in them USELESS) and thats it.
Andy_Bangle
82K!! feck me, that's more than a Jaguar XK-R or Porsche 911 Carrera GTS and I know what one I'd rather have. The outgoing 650i Sport was only 66K so there must be some serious options to crank up the price.
Golfer
Not much that I could see, I did say to the sales Manager "just how many do you think will sell", he had no reply. The engine and gearbox and performance the same as the 550i MS and same extras. Edited March 15, 2011 by Golfer

NewNiceMrMe
It isn't £82,000. The 650i SE is £67,300. The M Sport will be more, but not £15,000 more. Sorry Golfer, but whoever told you that price is having a laugh with you. It doesn't take long to check the official price on the BMW website.... NewNiceMrMe
WTF are you on? You could say that about any car! Spec a car up to the eyeballs and guess what - they cost a lot of money! I give in.

YOU Give in don't make me laugh, you just want the last word, and you ain't getting it, the car is stupid money and thats that IMO and thats all I have said, I know it's your "Pet love" this 6 series, but looking how BMW prices are going through the roof for a few changes Pisses me off. Sorry if your offended.
NewNiceMrMe
Look, what bit haven't you read? I agree - it is stupid money. It is too expensive. But.... Not the stupid money that you went about intimating were the starting prices!!!!! If you'd done a bit of searching you'd have seen that LONG ago I said I wouldn't buy the new 6 series. I think there are much better value cars out there and it's not the next car for me! I said ages ago I wanted a change next time around! This has nothing to do with it being a 6 series and everything to do with your complete exaggeration of the facts for some completely fecking baffling reason known only to you! Just read what has been said and it might actually make sense to you!
garcon magnifique
Golfer, you said it was £82k. It isn't. How f*cking hard can it be? Mind you, it does help explain how you calculate your mysteriously good deals on new cars every 6 months...

NewNiceMrMe
Thank feck. Anyway, I've just bought a £47k Vauxhall Corsa. I admit I specced it up a bit but the integrated dishwasher, microwave and Aga look great.
