Someone on the SRS forum brought this £40 ip night vision camera. He gets a good picture of his car even in pitch black and claims it's the best £40 he has ever spent. It records and when it senses movement will send you a picture to your e-mail if you set it up like that. You can even view it on an I Phone etc... The picture is really very good. Sorry Riz, I haven't read the whole thread but thought this may help.

:roflmao: you guys are such a laugh!

I haven't spoken to her yet but I have already asked her to be careful, she's a nurse so works silly hours and I don't fancy sitting by the window waiting for her..... :o

I guess the bottom line is that she doesn't give a feck and I can't really enforce the use of CCTV or take a legal route.

I have already told her to be careful so if she doesn't take notice then what can I actually do?

There are 6 parking slots in front of the apartment block, it seems 4 of my neighbours including her always park frontwards. I always reverse into my spot. I park straight right on the edge of my spot, the rest are all bent! Mmmm they are all women drivers too!

Looks like I'm in a no win situation! Perhaps I should stick a big fat notice on the front door to the apartment block.

Park straight in your parking spaces as I'm getting pushed out of my spot, I do not want my car dented! Thanks, Riz!

But then maybe they will beat my car up over night! lol :ffs:

WOW that door defender product seems good... mmm.....

Riz :D

Perhaps the chubbo nurse fancies you(you may be a looker in her eye) and wants your tally whacker, for you to destroy her ,smash her back doors in,make her walk like John Wayne for a week.......or the best option ride her like Sea Biscuit to make her try and see sense?

A week or so on holiday and there are some fun threads to read up on!

I had a similar issue at work and what action you take will probably end up being the break of the relationship you have with your neighbour, tread carefully in that respect!

My companies offices, which i do not work from are located in a light industrial area and all parking spaces went out in front of the buildings and the next door company would put its vans in their parking spaces. However they would also unload and load from there warehouse, of course doors opened and closed and worse then that empty pallets coming out of the cans would often be laid against the cars next to the van marking the paintwork etc.

One such space was their last allocated parking next to our first. Once i caught sight of pallet against one of our cars i told them and they gave the nod "ok yeah we wont do that etc". Of course next week there at it again.

A quick screen cap from our cctv and another visit to there foyer from me asking for monies resulted in nothing.

Next time a vid cap. from the cctv and i go back they wont do anything, a quick call to the local police station and a few hours pass and they come and visit. Their general point being that damage is damage and you should be able to assume within a reasonable expectations that parking your car in your own parking space should be "safe". Accidents happen and that isnt illegal (criminal damage) but when it is unresonable, to point where you are saying you are getting regular dents from one careless neigbour you will have a valid cause.

Your neighbour may not be be guilty of intentionally damaging your car, but she is being "intentionally uncareful by her nature" in a situtation which requires care and consideration for other peoples property.

My out come in the end was a repair at their cost. They have never parked vans in their end parking space again (so all damage has stopped) but they dont speak to us now either!

If you want the damage to stop, write your letter, buy a camera and take the action if damager persists. I would do it, but then again im probably one of "those" people ;)!

It might be worth calling your local community policing team, it might **** her up a bit and put her mind on the subject. They will probably come and discuss the issue with you both esp. if you suggest it might become a larger issue.

How is it I've missed this classic. Sat in an airport lounge with people around me wondering what I'm laughing at!

Can't believe you didn't just talk to her Riz; your letter, while getting out all the points in the correct way you think it will when you read it back, will most likely be missed on her. Why do you think companies have to submit a written proposal followed by (ideally) a presentation?!

I'm going to buy that IP CCTV unit for general peace of mind and have already sent her a letter. :D

Let me know what you think Riz - I fly a lot and being able to keep an eye on my RS 6 (yet to arrive) whilst on a flight from LA to New York is just super cool, but I haven't ordered just yet as I need to setup my new card with paypal and I'm just too lazy.

Singh - what is this mid-air connectivity you speak of? Am I flying the wrong airline or, as I suspect is more likely, the wrong class?

Andrew, its in flight wifi. I fly on Virgin America and have only used it on flights over the US. In fact, I've even used it with American airlines. I believe it will be rolled out on all airlines at some point in the future.

Lufthansa have it, they call it FlyNet, I think. Works pretty good too and is available in all cabin classes for a fee. Other airlines have a similar system too.

Looks like the letter worked, she has now parked in reverse :o

Well I had already politely told her to be careful. She didn't take notice which was witnessed by friends and family. Think a letter was the next logical step. :D

Will get that IP CCTV soon ;)

Glad you asked for our advice - and then completely ignored it! But glad it is sorted anyway.

Had you followed our specific instructions you would of course of have reached the same outcome, felt good about yourself for manning up, quite possibly got a jump, and gained the brief, but considerable, respect of the TSN collective.
