Gressy
Now, the Brooklands 280 is definitely cool. Whereas the Tickford Capri was cool for about 2 months in 1986. Way too Halfords bodykit. It's the Brooklands that does it for me. I tried to convince my Dad to sell a 1994 Citroen ZX I was using in 1997 that was worth exactly the same as a Brooklands at the time. A few years later the Citroen was traded in for £500 and meanwhile the same Brooklands has trebled in value...

cruiser647
Isn't the Brooklands the car that kick started the Halfords spoiler'n'skirt craze? I don't really remember seeing many other before 1986-87? with such crap on them!

Tipex
Them and the likes of Zender too. My dad had a MK2 Golf GTi with the full Zender kit on it, it was the height of coolness at the time, and gained me maximum respect when being dropped off/picked up from school! It looked like this one, in bright red, but had different wheels, and colour coded bumpers.- It was replaced with a Moonstone blue 2wd Sapphire Cosworth, which was about as cool as it got at the time, what with the reputation for being nicked and all. Tipex
Ahh the Escort Cosworth, I remember the first time I had a ride in one of those, an early big turbo example, on Madeira drive in Brighton at a 'cruise' being driven by a fit blonde who turned out to be slightly unhinged, I'm not sure what was more scary, her driving, or the sex!
