deanogtv
Morning guys Thought I'd get some peoples views on some subttle mods I'm looking to make and was wondering if someone could throw some suggestions in the pot. I've recently picked up a C5 2.5TDi Avant in Gun Metal Grey and love it to bits, however I cant help looking at an RS6 down the road thinking I love that aggresive styling. So heres the crack, I'm looking to do some subtle mod, I'm not going to dress something up to something its not, but I'd like a few parts like the RS6. So what would be a few small mods I could do to achieve the aggresive look, chrome mirrors?? 18" RS6 alloys??? Your thoughts would be appreciated
Mook
Stick some RS6 alloys on it, but that's about it. De-badge it. Tints on the rear windows. If it were me, it would stop there. Then I'd spend the money getting it to go quicker - remap will take it up to 220-230bhp and 340 lb ft of torque - then you can have some real fun
SINGH
A proper RS6 would have different front/rear bumpers and side skirts, and beefier beefier wheel arches too. The mirrors on my RS 6 are more of a matte then chrome finish. I think the S6 got the chrome finish. Here's mine if it helps. This photo shows the matte mirrors and arches skirts off well If you can though, buy a real one. As this is the best part, a 4.2 twin turbo V8 hand built by Cosworth in England, mine is 480 BHP as standard
Tipex
I'd add dropping the suspension slightly to that, but otherwise agree with Mook.
cruiser647
I'd add dropping the suspension slightly to that, but otherwise agree with Mook. Agreed. Please don't go to far.... Save the cash for the re-map. hmmmmm - might have to save some cash myself for a remap. How much for the extra ooooommmppphhhh!?
deanogtv
Thanks for your thoughts guys Mook, I totally agree with your thoughts. Really dont want to dress it up as something it isnt. Rear tints would look sweet I recon and I may retain the 18" wheels I have but get them smoked a dark grey. Add to this some Matt silver mirrors and and remap I recon she will be a sweet daily commuter. What about the door sill strips, do you recon they would look plain wrong???? I'm definatley going to buy a S6 when I finish my commute
deanogtv
not sure I want to drop the ride height, part of my commute brings me into london and the roads are shocking
SINGH
Don't bother with the C5 S6, skip that and buy a D2 S8. I've had both and cannot tell you how much better the D2 S8 is. In fact, overall I rate the D2 S8 higher then my RS 6.
deanogtv
Singh My father has the D2 S8 hence my reason for purchasing an A6 Avant as I loved the drive and feel. Lovely cars
Mook
Make sure you can afford to run a 4.2 V8 before you buy one. Yes, they'll do 21mpg, even 24mpg but not that often. I ran a very modifed S4 for a year and loved it - still miss it - but don't miss the fuel bills. Especially on track - 7.5mpg
SINGH
Yep, it's insane. I'm at £500 a month in fuel now for the RS6, MPG on this DIS is usually around 17-18.
Mook
F*ck that - you could buy a bloody house for that!

You got shares in Shell? Your Shell card must be worn out too. Mac has competition!!
SINGH
I know you said that in jest but my Shell V Power card has genuinely worn out and no longer reads on their system! I've been using the RS6 for work as of late as sold my BMW just recently but am in the process of ordering a new car to run alongside the RS for delivery on the new plate in March. Even after insuring it etc... I will be loads better off each month.
