Red Bull deemed illegal

If this gives an advantage then I'm off to start drilling the Caterham. Heaven knows, I need all the help I can get!

That is, of course, just as soon as I can work out what a "fully enclosed hole" is. If its fully enclosed, it's not a hole any more, surely?

I thought this was about the drink.:bike:

^ Moi aussi.

It upsets me that FIA don't find these illegal bits and pieces. Why should it be up to the competitors to spot these tiny things from race TV coverage etc. Don't FIA get given the detailed drawings etc?

It'd be like HMRC waiting for football managers to shop each other for tax evasion.

As I understand it the FIA were aware of it but decided to look at the rule and clarify the interpretation no doubt at the request of the other teams.

So how many races will RedBull be driving a possibly illegal car while FIA read the rules that they wrote themselves a few more times? Granted, it doesn't seem to be affecting their winning chances, but principally, it's fecking stupid.

Might as well develop two cars, one legal and one illegal to use use while they are dithering.

As far as I know that feature has been on the car since the season started but the car has not been deemed illegal it's just now the interpretation of the rules has been tightened up such that now Red Bull need to change the feature.

It's the usual F1 mince, 2 people can interpret the rules 3 different ways.
