CarMad
So it seems that Aston are going to move away from the current Ford engines and tap into AMG and get them to make something lovely to power their motors. And Mercedes have taken a 5% stake in the company as part of the deal as well, I wonder if they can now move the styling on a little. I personally thing they look fantastic but they haven't evolved much recently to say the least. Mook
As long as they keep the V12 going - the noise of those things is surreal But add the deep throat :D grunt of an AMG lump to any Aston's surely going to sound fantastic
stooH
Ooh, imagine the sound of a C63 coming from a gorgeous Aston :assfecking:
Mook
Maybe that means Bazza will have to get a pipe and some slippers before he buys his next car :D
Tipex
Aston's already sound gorgeous, I hope they don't make them sound like Mercs, as good as AMG Mercs sound, why would you want an Aston to sound like one?
CarMad
It seems that they are going to create and all new engine in the same way as they do for Pagini, which hardly sounds like anything else on the road does it.
max_b
This partnership has been rumoured for a while, not sure how much will be engine based as opposed the ability to get access to some decent auto gearboxes, which for Aston has always been an achilles, even though they have made massive improvements of late
CarMad
Yeah if they can get a link up on the tech side as well and get rid of the ?Volvo? sat-nav they could improve even more.
Ian_C
Yeah if they can get a link up on the tech side as well and get rid of the ?Volvo? sat-nav they could improve even more. They've FINALLY replaced it. The V8 might still use the old system, but all the new V12 models introduced from Virage onwards have a Garmin set up Hard to believe when Volvo first fitted Nav to theirs cars, it couldn't be programmed whilst the car was in motion.....
