garcon magnifique
I know someone who's a real XJS enthusiast. He owns two of them, an early V12 and a later 4.0. Unfortunately he's a complete fcuking knob.
eldavo69
You'll have no qualms about screwing the V12 round a track sideways then?
garcon magnifique
Last I heard it was running on about seven and a half cylinders and using more oil than petrol.
eldavo69
Sounds like one of the better ones then!

theduisbergkid
The Jaguar XK8 now qualifies, as does the Elise S1, as they both turn 18 this year. Alternatively we've no Scandinavians on board yet and I can see Mike and Jim in a Saab 900 Turbo wearing black roll-necks. It's a great time of year to buy a cheap Cabrio, the Fiat X1/9 is a daft little thing and the Alfa GTV Cabrio surely can't get any cheaper. We've not had any Fords yet, how about a Scorpio Cosworth estate? We NEED someone in a Mini too. I'm just back from a mad few days in Italy and am shortly off to Amsterdam, there are a few slots open still, although not many, I will post up the entry list when I get a mo'. eldavo69
If Mike and Jim show up in a classic mini then their entry fee should be waived. It'd be like something from the Flintstones with 4 legs sticking out of the bottom.

theduisbergkid
If Mike and Jim show up in a classic mini then their entry fee should be waived. No freebies, sorry, there is no profit in this event, that's why it's only £80 to enter. I'd love to see 'em in a Mini though :D
eldavo69
I'll chip in a tenner if they show up in a mini I remember the Malton meet we went to and seeing a couple of sturdy chaps sat on each other's knees in a proper mini.
garcon magnifique
I'm now envisaging a conversion whereby the single front seat moves sideways, allowing Jim to sit in the back and me to fit next to his legs, whichever of us is driving...
jimdiesel
I can reach the pedals from the back seat of a mini. The story of how I found out is unrepeatable though.

Tipex
Well i'm in, just got to get the Subaru fit and ready! My co-driver could be a return of the old dream team, myself and the Italian stallion Marco, or, worryingly, Mrs T has been making murmerings about 'seeing what it's all about'. Normally I like doing this stuff because it gets me away from her for a bit! Edited January 27, 2014 by Tipex

Tipex
I'll ask my mum! Anyhoo, who's done Blyton before? What's it like? I've had a quick look on Google maps and it, err, looks a bit rural, appears to be an old runway converted into something resembling a small track? Either way it'll be a laugh whatever. jimdiesel
Google maps is not up to date. I have been afew times as a spectator for both track days and rally cross. Ben did a day there just after Xmas so will be able to comment on what it is like to drive.
E-bmw
Have been there a few times and in spite of it being comnpletely flat as per it's former life as a WW2 bomber runway it is a good fun circuit with some good technical sections, a couple of reasonable length straights and a couple of corners that bite when not taken seriously. All in all a good fun track, the surface is good tarmac, and it also has the benefit that from one viewing point you can pretty much see the whole track, so good for spectators too.
