cruiser647
Did these people really think plugging your car in would be free for ever? http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/majority-uk-ev-chargers-cost-within-next-year Bloody 'something-for-nothing' brigade. Tipex
It still won't stop car park staff parking in the bays (as they always seem to site them right by the entrance/exit), I think i've only ever seen a couple of cars legitimately parked in such bays. EV won't take off until the range gets you both to where you want to go, and home again without needing charging, it's too much of a gamble. patently
You mean it's free at the moment? I assumed there was some kind of account system so you paid to get access? Typical that people show no gratitude for a freebie, only anger when it ends.
NewNiceMrMe
There are 4 of these in quite close proximity to me. All at the sea front, in pairs. I have never seen a vehicle being charged at them. There are then another two about 4 miles away, and then another two about 9 miles away. That sounds like good coverage, but when you consider how many electric vehicles might be on the road in years to come, perhaps not. I too presumed they took a debit/credit card or you had to slot money into them!
eldavo69
"Phoenix" have a Nissan Leaf taxi - I have no idea how that works but I often see it charging on Gosforth High Street.
Tipex
It doesn't is the simple answer. It'll be used as a promotional tool, I very much doubt it does any taxi work, we've looked into them, they just don't stack up.
eldavo69
It's either being charged on the high street or near us on jobs - it must have a 3 mile working radius at most.
