BBC Watchdog: Audi 'lied' about safety testing of vehicles

I thought doing the crash test was mandatory, NCAP maybe not but I remember Mclaren crashing the F1 all those years ago and it was the first car that could be driven afterwards due to it being made of Carbon Fibre.

Also whilst someone owning a super car obviously looks for the looks and speed etc. first but then as they might be travelling rather quickly I guess they might want it to not disintegrate if it does meet something a little solid.

I think they were the first to put fire extinguisher in them too.....

How pre-emptive was that? I'm sure 2014 GT3 owners are grateful. :P

I think there are plenty of examples of high end performance cars being pioneers of safety related tech, often because they're the first in the queue for trickle down from motorsport, particularly homologated series.

I think some people buying supercars do consider safety. I would certainly put a great big tick against the 911 given the crashes I've seen racers walk away from. Yes the cage helps but it's the integrity of the car itself that helps even more.

Umm, has anyone watched Watchdog?

I have and suspect anyone with even a glimmer of support for the dealerships and how Audi have promoted their cars on their own websites will hurriedly be saying otherwise.

It is absolutely shocking evidence against both Audi and dealerships.

They've not only got dealerships saying all their cars are NCAP tested - they've got Audi HQ on the phone, recorded, saying the same....twice. :roflmao:
